    Just a simple straightforward question.

Do you see it as potentially problematic that F2P reavers could be rolled en masse for all intents and purposes locking out your paying customers of several years?

As if we didn't already have a legitimate concern about how server performance would be affected by F2P in the moors...now we're up against not even being able to log in at all.

Surely you can appreciate why people are upset to read this on patch day.

Too bad they already said they are adding more infrastructure to reduce the issues. So your argument is a little bit off, as they already had the tech they needed, they just didn't put forth the time and effort to 'connect it'. Had nothing to do with dollars, just work load(which can equate to dollars, but in this case you are talking about buying/renting more servers; which they didn't need to do).

This thing is asking for usernames and passwords. Id steer clear of it and just wait for the demand to lower.

@lotro We are experiencing exceptionally high demand. Players may encounter delays in patching and while logging into the game.

Everyone just needs to take a chill pill. I know there's a lot of new people, but seems a lot of the older crowd has forgotten the fiasco that was MoM Launch!!! Just sit back and relax, go outside, watch tv, play with the kids, come back later after you've cooled off, and remember it's just a game!

Start Lotro, let is run, do something else.
If you have more than one PC, start Lotro there to, if you can start Lotro twice on one PC start it twice, let it run.
If one Lotro start to patch, close the others, copy the patched lotro later or while playing.

    1. the chance to get one lotro patched are higher
    2. you can play
    3. the additional started programs won't run in the servers anymore.

    4. there is no spoon and no gueue.

I don't recall there being any instructions to read with the preloaded update. We downloaded the update files, then on patch day first launch displayed a message to the effect of "installing preloaded files". I'm not a computer geek and I know I didn't do anything other than let the files do what they do. They did it flawlessly and with no hassle. Aside from any server queue issues, as far as I'm aware everyone who wanted to play was able to play.

Oh well, just remember things could always be worse. Iran could set off a nuke in space over us causing an EMP (electro magnetic pulse) that would wipe out anything that involves microchips, including the game servers, all our characters, etc. poof! gone. But it would also send out society back to the 19th century for god knows how long, so there would be even worse things to worry about.

Thumbs down Re: Rise of Isengard Update/Patching Discussion - OFFICIAL

This is pathetic.. I mean I have been looking at countdowns from 00:59 to 00:00 for hours now. There is no information (as usual) from Turbine, other than they were going to launch a few more login/patch servers an hour back or so.

Still my friend (on the same network as me) has logged in, set up his first character and played for about 45 minutes now. I still can't even begin patching.

Come on Turbine.. Give us stand alone patches, can't be that hard to build or even distribute. I can't imagine a single kinship that wouldn't free of charge distribute the patches to their members.

I am going nuts here, after all i am a so called V.I.P
I certainly don't feel that today.

because only 1000 people can talk to the patch server at once and 50,000 are attempting to do so.

So any word on what to do if you're stuck at the "Examine Game Data" step for an hour or so? Not terribly concerned about it, otherwise preoccupied, but would like to know if this is a perpetual hang and I should just restart the launcher, or whether there's an invisible queue it's waiting in.

I think more than anything else it would have helped for the launcher to be more descriptive. There's all this talk of queues but nowhere in the launcher text does it suggest the existence of said queue. Informative tooltips are everybody's friends.
