Treasure Hunter Pick Axe Lotto???

I just noticed there is a lotto up for the Treasure hunter pick axes that were in beta last spring for the Treasure Hunters event. Anyone check out the treasure hunting grounds to see if the event was turned on?

I hope that it is. Perhaps it is a new addition with the Winter Festival (although realistically, what a horrible time to dig for treasure, when the ground is frozen solid and your fingers are aching from the cold). I'm anxious to login and check out the Treasure Hunting Grounds north of Gondamon now.

I think you guys might want to jump onto one of the servers tonight... somewhere between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM Eastern time (24:00 - 02:00 Deutch/française). I heard the hard winter ground might soften up a bit tonight and tonight only. =^_^=

A lot of players, myself included, are unable to play since U5 due to the lotroclient crashes. Any chance of either postponing or repeating the treasure event after that gets fixed?

Shocking decision to hold this as a day/time that excludes half your player base(EU). If you guys need someone based in the EU to help you with your time conversions and what will suit/not suit EU players drop me a line...

Treasure Hunter Pick axe? Treasure hunting grounds???? Maybe you should publicize this better since I imagine half the LOTRO game playing community has NEVER heard of this event. I am a hard core festival goer in LOTRO and this is the first I've ever heard of this. Why are you keeping this secret!?!? Apparently people could only have known about this from a particular beta period so maybe you should enlighten the rest of us.

This run of the event is more of a sneak preview than an actual run. Don't worry guys, if you miss it this time it will be back around again!

first off dont get your boxers/panties in a bunch this isnt a anti eu thing.

this is most likely a trial run as they couldnt get the dang thing working well enough to turn on for the Grindiversary we had back in April.

hopefully it works how they want and we can get more of them.

and i am sure they want this working as extra treasure hunter pick axes can be got from the store IIRC.

The Treasure Hunting Grounds (a.k.a. The Low Lands Training Grounds) is North by North-East of Gondamon in Ered Luin.

Directions: Leave the West Gate of Gondamon until you come to the road traveling North-South. Go North. You will come to a four-way intersection, continue to go North. The path will loop back up the hillside to the West.

When you go to the Treasure hunting grounds, you'll get all the info you need on how to participate. you can go to Thorins hall and take a horse to the treasure grounds.

Tool-tip for the Pick-Axe I believe explains where it can be used. To use the Pick-Axe just do as any quest item...right-click on it while standing in the Low Lands Training Ground. Your character will undergo the mining animation and you'll either successfully dig a hole or discover something underwhemingly awesome. (Or so I have gathered).

It's something for fun, more so than just turning in Tokens to get a box. Although the Low Lands Training Ground near Gondamon is a rather out of the way location there is a Summoning Horn there so your friends can summon you directly there if you don't want to take a slow mount from Celondim or Thorin's Hall to Gondamon.

You can jump into the event by visiting one of the Festival Announcer Stable Masters located at the major stables in Celondim, Thorin's Hall, Bree, and Michel Delving.

Quick thoughts while doing the event so far. It's kinda a fun distraction, the only complaint I have so far is if we could turn off the ding for all these cave claws finding sites. Just dinging for me would be ok, but all these dings from other people using them are kinda annoying.
