I hope this isn't the only way to get it.
I usually wait to buy xpacs when they are made available in the store, and are on sale, using my saved up TP.
I will not be pre-purchasing it.

I'm quite sure that it will come to the Store later as well, since it would give Turbine a great deal of money from all who will want to purchase it.

It will likely be per character in the TP store though, and also be pretty expensive I am guessing.

Of course this is not the only way to get it. What a thought ^^
Pre-order might lure with early release of the bag though.
I imagine it will be the same deal as the XP pocket item from RoI. Pre-orders have it applied to the account (including new chars created afterward), after release it's purchasable with TP on a character by character basis.
Can we get a clarification on this?
Will the 6th bag only go free to those who pre-purchase RoR? Or will it be included in all purchases of RoR (eg. you were away and missed the pre-purchase, but got back, and bought RoR the next week)?
I'm sure we'll be told, just not soon.

As I recall, the actual deal was, buy the Adventurers Pack and get shared storage and then Mirkwood was free. In practice it meant that you got all of it for a single fee equal to the cost of Mirkwood if you did so before launch, but technically, you were buying the AP, not Mirkwood.

It seems to me that there have been things from preorders that aren't in the store. I have a bunch of cloaks from various preorders going back to Founder/Lifer, including the very useful (at low level) Harbinger's Cloak with its extra speed and good low-level armor value. There are horses - I don't think the red Gap horse is available anywhere else, right? Maybe the Rohirrim horses? In terms of non-fluff, I think that a pre-order that I didn't get upped the number of character slots by two more than you can get by buying them in the Store... but feel free to correct me if I blew that one too.
In any case, I usually pre-order them, and will pre-order this one also with real dollars. I just hope I have my linux operation sorted by then so I can actually play it!

Assuming loyal customers will preorder and will buy the bag anyways, Imho They won't include this very valuable feature "for free" in a preorder. (its not for free anyways)
I hope I'm wrong, and if they do I'll take this as a sign of good faith towards people who have paid many times the full price and these last times are being disappointed again and again.
Please ignore my ridiculous running animation.
they always said this was a matter of TECH
if they solved that problem, then its a pretty sure bet itll make it to the store.

Chances are, it'll be part of the pre-order only, initially, then added to the store at a later time, just like Shared Storage was. I'm perfectly fine with that. I'd rather pay cash than an inflated TP price anyway.

Confusion works in Turbine's advantage. As long as customers are in the dark about what their options are, many of them will 'play it safe' and pre-order. More money for Turbine!
This is why their pre-release announcements are so vague that they look like they've been written by blind monkeys. Or Marketing.
Does anyone really think they're not going to eventually put something in the store as desirable as an extra inventory bag? It will be there at some point after RoR release once there is no longer an incentive for cash purchase, I'd guess.
Arda Shrugged : Elendilmir (RIP) -> Arkenstone -> Anor (RIP) -> Landroval -> Treebeard
It's not a make-or-break feature any longer for me, though. Turbine's done an excellent job of reducing clutter, especially at higher levels. Between that and my conquering my "must keep everything in case I might someday need it" habit, I've been chundering along fine on just over one bag (counting 6 LIs) except on raids, when I carry more situational stuff.

They are including it in the RoR preorder
However, I doubt it will be included in the lowest cost package and I do think they will put it in the store eventually for those who not only couldn't/didn't preorder but for those who join the game afterwards, it would be silly to make it an exclusive bonus of a preoder, that only gives them a few months of sales instead of the lifetime of the game. Preorder exclusives are usually cosmetics or mounts or in this last case an account wide version of an item that can now be bought in the store per character - at a fairly high price.Players have long requested additional bag space for their characters. We appreciate that storage is always at a premium and more space is always better. It’s also a very complicated thing to make happen. Engineering requirements, server performance, and database space all have to be considered. We’ve looked at the request from every angle and we’re very happy to report that a sixth inventory bag will be made available as part of the Riders of Rohan pre-purchase.
Update 7 includes the User Interface changes required to make this happen. So, while you may see new inventory buttons on your toolbar, the bag itself is not currently available. More details on how to acquire it will be coming very soon.
I hope they offer it in the store with both options (per character/per account)

Turbine would rather have customers purchase their expansions with real money rather than Turbine Points. This is why they are including it with the pre-purchase. If you pre-purchase, you will most likely receive the 6th bag on all your characters, including future ones. Once pre-purchase is gone, you will likely have to purchase this on each character you want it on.
Details will be coming soon. No not that soon, the real soon. But not real soon, just soon.
Seriously, we did give a hint recently via a certain disturbing horse headed dev and I have heard that there is some sort of big thing going on in LA before too much longer. Or that's what they told me when they handed me my plane tickets.
You can fly into Lion's Arch now? Way cool...Oh, wait. You must mean that OTHER LA...my bad.
On topic - A sixth inventory bag would be nice if it does indeed come with the expansion, assuming I make the gamble and buy it. I'm definitely not buying it from the Store. Stores should give you bags to put your real purchases in and not sell them, IMHO.
It is typical of Turbine to advertise something that has not been released yet. Similarly, since the only way to get the bag will probably be pre-ordering RoR until the expansion is released it shows that Turbine are already trying to force customers to buy the expansion as soon as it is pre-order'able.
Watch out peeps! Make sure you know what you are buying before you buy it! I certainly won't make the same mistake with RoR as I did with Isengard.

Actually, I believe only in the U.S. are shopping bags almost always free. From, what I've heard, in Europe, if you want a bag to put your purchases in, you are charged for it. And the free shopping bag in the U.S. is going away. More and more stores are starting to charge for them, either by choice or by local regulations.
I would like to point out that even "free" shopping bags are not really free. The cost of them is included in the purchase price of everything you buy in the store. That's why some stores are willing to give you a small discount for bringing your own bag. And while inventory bags in the game are virtual, they cost Turbine real money because they increase the amount of data that that must be stored.
