So, I'm running solo in the Moors. Jogging along, looking for trouble, and I stop moving. You know the drill -- I can turn in place, I can chat with other players, but I can't move. After a minor eternity, the screen jumps, and I'm sprawled dead on the ground. My combat log shows that a single player was able to attack me 14 times. 14 attacks whilst I stood there completely unawares. Yes, not an unusual occurrence, but I've had enough. Death to lag. Raid wipes to lag. Raid failures due to boss bugout. Gambit failures due to lag. Snarky GM who tell you to stop complaining about it. This game is fundamentally broken, and it's beyond unreasonable to accept money for it in the current state.
I want to play this game. I'm willing to pay to play. I'm willing to spend extra cash for fluff. I'm willing to drag new players in so they can spend. But I've stopped all of that, and won't resume, until you make the game playable.
Stop with the endless class tweaks.
Stop with the endless store enhancements.
Stop adding new festivals.
Stop introducing omgnewgamechangingtech!!!!1! that never gets used again.
Stop telling your bosses what they want to hear. It's time to step up and be honest.
Fix. The. Core. Pull all of your company resources into one mass initiative to fix this nonsense. Cut staff hours in secondary departments and spend what's necessary to get a team that is capable of resolving these issues.
And yes, I've contributed to the "official" lag thread. However, I stopped that some time ago because I'm tired of making a post that gets vanished when I click submit. Or even before that, I come to the forums and have to log in, move to the subforum and have to log in, and then get denied posting because I' not logged in. Yeah, it's kind of difficult to believe a company that can't run a functioning web forum can fix a MMO, I'll give you that.
Rohan can not possibly function as things are. It can not. You've created a game mechanic -- whilst ignoring the currently broken ones -- based on fluid high-speed movement. How can you possibly think that is possible under the current state of lag/stuttering? Yeah, I know -- your developers work in a bubble with solid performance and only 3-4 people on the system. The current drunken hobbit nonsense shows that your staff isn't developing with large player numbers in mind. Players keep saying they want real video of real game play on horseback -- we won't see that, because it's not happening.
Turbine, are you even remotely aware of the level of lameness that your product has reached? Or are you all so busy OMGTHEGRASSMOVES!!!!!1!! with meaningless "improvements" that you've completely lost touch with basic playability?
