I've stepped into the #1 overall individual fund raiser slot and thanks to you we're pulling away with $12,409 raised to date.

The Lifetime is available as well! $12,000 was the goal to unlock the drawing. All drawings happen AFTER 11:59PM Eastern US time on Saturday october 20th. So as long as you make a $5 donation before then, you'll be eligible for the Lifetime Subscription.

We're getting close now to the Extra Life gaming marathon on 10/20, 2012. You’ve all been amazing with your generosity, outpouring of support and willingness to donate to help us help heal sick kids.

For those wondering, I’ll be starting my Marathon at Midnight on Friday Night and gaming until Midnight on Saturday night, October 20th. Those of you who have donated and made specific game requests in exchange for your $50 donation should expect to see tweets and screens start flowing sometime Saturday after 10AM. I won’t play your games in the dead of night so you’lll have a chance to see them.

As a condition of the Ettenmoors challenge, I’ll be playing on the Brandywine server on Saturday October 20th at some point in the afternoon. I’ll post the live feed here for all to link to once I’m in and playing. I’ll spend 1 hour in the Ettenmoors on a freshly minted Reaver for this event. No GM tricks, no Admin invincible. Just me against the world!

Here’s a reminder of everything that listed here is still available to anyone who donates before 11:59PM Eastern Time on Saturday October 20th. Please, please do not make penny or 50 cent bids. You need at least $5 to qualify for the Lifetime Subscription drawing, so let’s try to stick to that. If you can’t donate the whole $5, please at least donate $1. Every dollar helps, but amounts smaller than that cost the charity money to process.

So there you have it. Everything you need to know up to this point. We're at $12,920 raised. You need $2,080 to make me shave my beard. As the time ticks down, I have less and less worry about needing to buy a razor.

Finally, and most important, let's not forget why I'm willing to do all this stuff. Why I'm willing to be silly and goofy and see myself clean shaven for the first time in what is probably 17 years. Sick Kids.

No one should have to face scary diseases like Cancer, cystic fibrosis, or serious injuries from accidents much less kids. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals like my charity, Boston Children's Hospital takes care of kids suffering from these illnesses and injuries and they do it without regard to the parents ability to pay. It's about helping sick kids be well. Keep that in mind please when you make your donatios.

I started a goatee on my honeymoon, and have had it pretty much ever since (14+ years now), with one exception. After about 2 years, she asked me to shave it off, because I'd had it for awhile Wasn't gone for more than 2 minutes when she told me not to do shave it off ever again.

To anyone who can spare a few dollars but don't think it will make any difference...it does. If you look at the donations there are many that are just a few dollars, but look how much they've added up to! So if you're holding back because you think it's too small...well, it's not. If we all do what we can, it really does add up.

It is amazing! I keep adjusting my goal up as we hit milestones, but my original goal was $500. so we're at 2701% of my original goal!

Just remember as the 24 hours gets near the end and your head starts bobbing down dangerously close to that coffee and pie (caffeine and sugar) your better half keeps you stocked up on that you made over $565 and hour for the kids......keep going and be sure to take her out to a nice dinner ............ after you recover.

Oh believe me, she's getting taken care of. She's the one making the Legolas costume and is the one going to have to deal with seeing me with 0 facial hair for the first time ever. She's already said she can deal with it, just won't be looking at me until I grow it back (Fortunately November is Movember! Grow facial hair for charity!).

A representative from BCH called today to congratulate me on being the top fundraiser and Team Turbine for being the top team fund raiser for Boston Children's Hospital. I interrupted to to let her know I wasn't done. That there is a $15,000 goal and what the incentive is. I told her, there's over two days left. That's 48+ hours of fund raising to go!

So the question becomes... do we stop at $15k? If we have time, I don't see why we should. Can we make it to 16,000? the original $17,500 beard goal? Maybe at $15,250 we should switch everyone's "hero" title to "Beard-Banisher" Just to prove we can go over. Or maybe there's a dollar amount that's worth making a video during the shave. Go to a barber, make it a production.
