    Dressage daily quest in Hytbold

There are now multiple accounts of this quest being broken for many people on many servers. Is there any indication that this is being looked into as it is fast becoming a roadblock for deed completion (and the extra 50 hytbold tokens for doing so).

If you are at the point where the Norcrofts faction is the only unmaxed faction for you, the loss of the 1200 points of faction is an issue also each time this quest is cycled in.

I realise you can get your 5 quest completion tokens easily by doing another quest in a different hub but the loss of the 25 tokens for completion of all the Norcrofts quest + the loss of the further 25 tokens for completion of all 4 hubs adds an extra 2 days on to the completion time for the rebuild and we also do not know whether not completing the hub deeds affects anything post-rebuild or the reward for it.

Can anyone give an indication when this will be looked into/fixed please?

Thanks for starting this thread, Zane! It is bugged for me as well and I completely agree with you; very irritating to only need one more quest for those deeds, have that quest finally come up in the rotation, and then have the quest not work... Would certainly appreciate if someone at Turbine would give this sleeping rohirrim a good cup of coffee as soon as possible!

    Still broken

And again, Dressage comes up in Cliving as a daily, and it's broken on the Crickhollow server. No need to say more since there seems to be about a 1000 other posts all say'n the same thing. It's broken and it appears that Turbine's in no hurry to get it fixed. Have yet to see any positive or promising response from Turbine. Totally wish I hadn't passed on it back on the 3rd day after RoR was release. It was working fine and I was going for the twin cluster quests first, thinking it would be simple enough to get done later.

A fellow kinnie and I have been experimenting a bit with this quest and we noticed that as the player moves closer to the npc which we're suppose to perform the emotes to, the flashing yellow bar which normally covers the name of the city you are in (located beneath the map in the upper right corner of the screen) stops flashing. If you move away from the npc it begins flashing again, as if you just entered a new area. This seems to indicate that there might be a layering issue causing the emotes to not register at all.
Not sure if anyone has reported this before but hopefully this information will help Turbine find the problem. A little optimism goes a long way perhaps? :P

Theomir and I also noticed some other things about this broken quest. I put them in my bug report, but I'll put them here for the general FYI as well.

    1) The quest is no longer recognizing that someone else is doing it. It used to make you wait your turn if someone else was currently doing it, by saying "wait for next round" or something like that. Now, no matter if anyone else is actively trying, it always says "dressage has begun." This tells me that the quest has lost its ability to register is has an active participant despite "beginning" - which may be why no participant ever actually sees an emote, as it doesn't really know you're there (or so it seems).

    2) There is no correct emote, but there is also no INCORRECT emote. Whether you try one at a time randomly hoping for a success, or spam all 5 before the timer runs out - it never registers any emote at all. If you do the wrong one, you should instantly fail. If you do the right one, it used to pop up a message saying "wait for the next one" or something like that and progress your quest tracker accordingly. Now, nothing - only a ticking timer to failure. My theory - it is not performing an emote visually or in reality in ANY way (including behind the scenes), so it cannot declare you right or wrong to begin with. Hence the timer goes on but no response to emotes, positive or negative.

These are just my theories mind you, and I am no programmer so I don't know if they make any sense or not. But that's what I've gotten out of experimenting trying to beat the bug. Thankfully my main got this one in early on, before the reports of breaking. But all my other toons seemed doomed to hit this wall of a silent horseman not actually running his dressage competition.

Still bugged. I tried a bunch of things to get the quest to progress, and none worked. I figured with a 1 in 5 chance of trying the right emote I ought to blindly be right at least some time, but nope, always fails, and the rohirrim just stands there.

Working fine on Vilya @ 3:30am EST

I was able to do Dressage with no problems at all soon after server restart this morning on Vilya. Got up fairly close to the NPC, and with at least 4 other players trying it at the same time, was able to complete it by repeating the NPC's emotes without any troubles. Just an FYI for everyone who thinks it's constantly/completely broken...

Dressage up again on Crickhollow today and again it's broken with a completely stationary NPC. Is there any formal response from a Turbine representative as to when this is likely to be fixed or even looked at please?

    Thanks,

    Thumbs down

My kinmate and I tried this last night. I did it on the second try, the first I didn't recognize the charge emote. He tried it 7 times and never got it. So it's not that the quest is bugged, it's working for some people (like me) and totally bugged for other people (like him). He finally filed a bug report on this.

We tried everything, even changing the avenue of approach to the arena: north of the stables, between the stables, from south of the stables, from the west side of town. Nothing worked.

This is very frustrating because it's usually me who's the klutz and has to try repeatedly for the "coordination" type quests.

Please fix this ASAP, or at least let us know that you received his bug report.
