Report from Meneldor: I have not yet been given the chance to try this quest, as it is always 'Wild Horses' (six days in a row, i think?) or 'The Race' on my server, argh!

Edit: Dressage finally showed up today on Meneldor! Woohoo! .....bugged, NPC does nothing. =:O/

It worked on Laurelin yesterday, I finally got it done. It's always been bugged before, but since it was sunday I was there shortly after server reset (9 am for me), maybe that was why it worked.

Last week this worked on Eldar, but now it is bugged, the rider doesn't make any emotes. There is also the fact that when the quest worked properly, you had to wait until the cycle is over before you can actually start doing the quest. When it is bugged, you get the message that the dressage has begun immediately.

I think there is plenty of evidence that something needs to be done, I don't see the point of bugging this myself, I believe this is probably one of the most reported quests for bugs already.

    [QUOTE=Valchiria;6517272]On Laurelin Too...

and the answer to my ticket was always the same...of all the ticket i submit...they are not able to do anything...i think...they never are able to do somethiing... QUOTE]

It's been my experience that 'we can't do anything' is the standard response for GM's on Brandywine. I've reported this as a bug on the 5 separate times the quest was assigned (and trying all the variant spams).

I find it amazingly incompetent with what, 10-15 different threads here, that they claim that it's not a know issue.

It seems to be hit or miss on the Gladden server, one day it will work and the next day it doesn't. Was able to finally complete it yesterday after waiting for it to come up again in the rotation due to it not working the first couple of times I got it.

It did the same thing during the closed beta so this is not a new issue with this quest.

I put another ticket in last night and was told this is still not a known issue, "submit a /bug report". Unfortunately, this leads me to feel that only volume matters in terms of addressing issues as I reported this on the 2nd of Nov. (along with a ticket and many other kinnies/server folk that claimed to have done the same... not to mention the constant public channel comments, and multiple forum threads). Additionally, this issue is most likely the most obvious bug I've ever seen. You merely need to be IN cliving to see about a dozen people emoting a broken NPC. Or monitor GLFF for about 60 seconds to see the complaints...

Also, the list of fixes from the patch notes were mostly "gripe-points" from the user base (mining from horseback, commendations when away from the group, open tapping.... while all the actual broken stuff remained off the list). It appears the squeaky wheel is driving this boat... I would very much like to see this change.

I've stopped hoping for it to be fixed to be honest. Turbine has been conspicuously absent anytime the word "Dressage" has been brought up. I guess that allows them to continue to tell us that it's not a known issue. Maybe if enough of us got together and offered to spend 100TP to have a GM advance the quest?

Still down on Brandywine after reset, but shhh keep it on the down low it's still un-known

EDIT on a side note it might not be quite as unknown anymore:
+Krymux+ tells you, 'Resetting this NPC will not resolve this issue, sorry.

A least there seems to be progress in the awareness dept. More promising than the usuall we don't know wth your talking about go do another /bug

And Kudos to the Only GM who is capable of more than a canned statement; I sent a feedback survey req that they give you your own parking spot.

I've generally had really good in game support experinences... I suspect they are doing what they are told when the outcome is less than favorable.... and we all would do the same as they are, if we were in that position

This is to let you know that Dressage was working when I did it a few hours ago on Withywindle.

Had a little trouble at first recognizing the emotes, but i got it in a few attempts, and others too.
    Evernight formerly Withywindle: Inchillont L140 HN / Daeregold L140 CH / Silketh L140 LM / Silksword L140 GD / Silkentouch L133 BG / Halgvilda L130 BE / Elsora L139 CP / Silkwing L130 WD / Silka L140 MN / Saelketh L140 RK / and many more ...

Broken today on Crickhollow. See here: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...est-in-Hytbold

    Some things we noticed:

    1) The quest is no longer recognizing that someone else is doing it. It used to make you wait your turn if someone else was currently doing it, by saying "wait for next round" or something like that. Now, no matter if anyone else is actively trying, it always says "dressage has begun." This tells me that the quest has lost its ability to register is has an active participant despite "beginning" - which may be why no participant ever actually sees an emote, as it doesn't really know you're there (or so it seems).

    2) There is no correct emote, but there is also no INCORRECT emote. Whether you try one at a time randomly hoping for a success, or spam all 5 before the timer runs out - it never registers any emote at all. If you do the wrong one, you should instantly fail. If you do the right one, it used to pop up a message saying "wait for the next one" or something like that and progress your quest tracker accordingly. Now, nothing - only a ticking timer to failure. My theory - it is not performing an emote visually or in reality in ANY way (including behind the scenes), so it cannot declare you right or wrong to begin with. Hence the timer goes on but no response to emotes, positive or negative.

These are just my theories mind you, and I am no programmer so I don't know if they make any sense or not. But that's what I've gotten out of experimenting trying to beat the bug. Thankfully my main got this one in early on, before the reports of breaking. But all my other toons seemed doomed to hit this wall of a silent horseman not actually running his dressage competition.

This sort of makes sense. The quest is working for me on Windfola today for the first time in two weeks. There were three of us doing the emotes at the same time and it looks like all three of us completed. I'm pretty sure the last time it actually worked for me, we were doing it one person at a time and we had to wait our turns, but it was so long ago I can't be entirely sure.

Yeah, all the people in this and the other 7 threads on this subject are simply ne'er-do-wells who've nothing better to do than start and respond to threads.

Let me ask you, do you find it your duty to respond to every thread on the forum or do you seek out bugged quest reports and try to refute the OPs?

I did this on Dwarrowdelf last night, my kinmate tried it at exactly the same time in (and out) of fellowship with me and never finished it after 30 minutes of trying.

    It's bugged.
