if I turn my camera to face my attacker when stunned does that also break positional dmg? More specifically, if I turn the camera to face with just lmb without hitting rmb until i come out of the stun, will I be breaking the positional dmg bonus?

I've never been one to look at my combat log much in the moors and had never heard of stun turning till I saw this thread and looked it up. I've been obliviously 'stun turning' from day one since my first move post stun is going to be to face an opponent and I want to be doing that the instant I get up.

Stun-turning is turning your actual character while still stunned. If you don't know exactly how to do it, you probably aren't doing it.

What am I doing on this forum?

Normally I would turn with both mouse buttons to face my opponent. if that doesn't do it, don't tell me how...

The * key. A bit of an inconvenient spot on the keyboard, and as a warden there's not all that much of a need to ever do it anyway.

Although, if you do use it, you can expect people to get their knickers in a knot because they didn't get 3-4 attacks with free bonus damage.

I am easily the worst warg on Elendilmir, but thanks for all the 1v1s the past few days. It's been fun and a great learning experience.

Good 1v1 at CoT, Swizz. It was impressive how, when you were losing, you got me to stop attacking by stopping yourself and then having a warg pounce me before continuing our fight. But I guess that's how Flash Mob does 1v1s.

Then again, reavers are quite underpowered at the moment so it's understandable that you'd need outside help in a 1v1 circle. Oh wait. I got that backwards. Reavers are quite strong, but unfortunately the only skills you bought from store don't actually make you play any better.

If my opponents had good movement (Or just a ridiculous slow/movement buff handicap), stun turning would have done very little over the course of the fight. If They had bad movement, it wouldn't have mattered.

I don't do it myself, but I cannot see the reasoning behind why it is taboo.

For the same reason bugging out npc's or any of the other plethora of faulty mechanics within the game should be considered taboo. Whether the advantage gained is relatively small (in this case) or not it is still an exploit and a fault within game mechanics.

Also, I said if I wasn't doing it don't tell me how it works! In 8-9 months of freep/creeping on another server I had never seen or heard of this, I've seen it a few times here on E since posting, so I'm glad to see I hadn't been inadvertently doing it like my initial search on it lead me to believe.

Good fights today Aceacedeucethree, Brookgrim, Thomasborn-1, and Arazel.

Also Gando, Macswagga. and Vangelis. Vang, you're the first LM I've fought in RoR and I obviously have no answer currently for water-lore. Very informative fights.

Traditionally, bugging out npc's has been completely different in it's effect on the affected opposition.
For example, a reaver bugging out old EC's npc's so that the creep force can zerg inside without having to risk casualty (that was probably the most common).

I still don't see how stun-turning contrasts with, say, hunters sitting on top of the bridge pillars to escape risk from melee opponents.
Unless you lost by a minuscule amount of damage, it really shouldn't affect anything that wouldn't have otherwise happened (in terms of results).

obviously the relative scale of this exploit is less than most other bugs, but that doesn't make it right (same with ranged classes sitting on the pillars via horse). You're more than welcome to determine whether you want to fight people who use this exploit, just like anyone else, but to dismiss an exploit simply because 'its not that big of a deal' is, IMO, missing the point.

Hey Slick, thank you for the fights, I noticed after the fact we had two outposts and you guys didn't have any! We'll have to do it again at a different time.

Also, thank you Mr. Irish Reaver Dance.

Thanks for all the fights today, it was nice to come back to some 1v1s. Seemed like every one I fought had a unique style, which was refreshing.
