With the introduction of an XP disabler, there's an opportunity to form a group of players with characters that all level at about the same rate.
The advantage of such a group is that, when it comes to group content, the members of the group can get together to go through it at something near the appropriate level.
To be honest, I am interested in a group that will take on the challenges of middle earth at something below "on level" for a region. I have found that even "on level" does not provide much of an interesting challenge. I think that something nearer to 5 levels below content would be better.
I've created a character, Alphred, on Landroval, that I intend to role-play my way through the content of Middle Earth, keeping him about 5 levels below the content of the area he is adventuring in. He'll start in Little Delving as soon as Update 9 is released. As an example, he'll still be Level 5 when he gets to Needlehole and needs to run The Gift of the North instance. I'll be hoping to have a group that will allow us to pull together a fellowship of Level 5 characters to do this instance as a full fellowship.
I'll also hope to have a companion or two at Tuckborough dealing with the bears, and when tackling the Warg at Budgeford, who will be a true monster to what I expect will be by then a group of Level 7 characters.
I hope to be exploring the Old Forest at Levels 10 through 12, and be in the Barrow Downs at Level 15. At the Barrow Downs, I look forward to forming up some fellowships to enter each of the 10 barrows - and actually play them as fellowship instances. The barrows in the North Barrows should be a challenge for a small fellowship. The South Barrows will require a full fellowship.
This won't be shoot-loot-and-scoot adventuring, but "walk and talk" roleplaying, for the most part.
Iffen you have an interest in this, Alphred will start his adventures as soon as Update 9 is released and the new XP disabler is in the stores.
On Landroval . . . as I said.
