Edoras is probably going to be big

Bigger then Bree I hope. It should be by just seeing it out in from the distance near Snowbourne in the Sutcrofts. It looks decent sized there. Also in the last epic instance, there is a nice view looking out over the rest of the city. And the stairs to the Golden Hall are really steep and long.

So I really hope Edoras will be the biggest city hub we may have yet. For high lvl players at least, I personally hope they won't water down Edoras and Minas Tirith in size and scale. They both have many level layers. Though Minas Tirith has more.

Looking forward to hearing the details about Edoras.

I was pretty excited when we got to visit at the end of the epic. It looked so big and open - perfect for a people who live side by side with their horses, I suppose. We don't get many of those kinds of places anymore. Very unique compared to all the other awesome places we've been to so far.

I am disappointed with how big Edoras is actually. Why would a culture based on the horse build such a large city?

That being said, it does look amazing! I look forward to exploring more of Rohan soon.

I understand your point, but in the books (which I assume you've read) Tolkien explained that the capital of Rohan was HUGE. Bigger and grander than all the other towns throughout Rohan.

I get your point, but on the flip side, open space makes it easier to maneuver cavalry. I imagine Edoras will be comprised of separate hubs, between which its inhabitants ride on horseback. This is the capital city of the Rohirrim, after all, so it obviously holds great importance as a military hub.

I don't remember that part....I'll have to go back and reread The Two Towers.

I call shenanigans, you're making that up. Ironcrown is right to be sceptical, Turbine are just up to their old trick of exaggerating things, making places overly big and way too flashy.

That's only the cosmetic though. for an additional 2995 Turbine Points, you can gain +100% evade, +100% parry, +100% block and +100% resist rating for one hour.

It makes perfect sense. The Rohirrim weren't the Mongols -- they're not inherently nomadic or the like. They just really love their horses. It's not a massive city, but it's the capital of one of the three greatest Kingdoms of Men (two, depending on where Dale ranks). It's going to be bigger than a backwater like Bree.

Agreed. They are horse people, but they're not only-horse people. It's like wondering why the great plains has a huge city like Chicago in it. When you look around at what we have in the game, most people are farmers or merchants or the like. The horse riders were mostly the warrior class and aristocracy.

And I always thought Bree was too big. In the books I always pictured it more like a small village.

Edoras is supposed to be built on a hill in a vale. Is it?

I'm still hoping that Minas Tirith will at least be the size of Divinitys Reach from GW2
