Yeah, got my codes today and they worked just fine...
But I just wanted to offer kudos to Rick again (and the awesome community that backed him up) for the impressive amount of money we raised for the charity - and the kids... stuff like this DOES make a difference in the life of those families affected... Thanks to you all...

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
I learned a lot doing this. For starters I went into this with the idea that maybe I could raise $500 and if I didn't I'd put that much in myself. $18k later I was more than overwhelmed by the response. Everything was done on the fly last year. This year... I have a plan!
Drogo, Last month I had the amazing opportunity to meet with the philanthropic group at BCH and the primary organizers of Extra life and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. It was an amazing meeting and we got to meet some of the staff and people who care for these kids and learn how the money is spent. The biggest surprise to me was that people from all over the country and all over the world bring their children to BCH because of the level of care and because they turn no one away for financial reasons. They have an entire staff of translators that cover more languages than I knew existed. If they can get here, they get help.
I left with one thought, "We need a bigger number this year."
Thanks Sapience and Victorie!
Knew it would eventually get worked through.
Looking forward to hearing about your plans for the 2013 fundraiser.![]()

Thanks to Team Turbine, Sapience, Victorie, and everyone else!
Please do plan for another go this year. I will contribute again. It's not about the goodies, but about doing something good.
Also, given the escalating costs of cancer control (expected to double in the next decade), I would encourage you to go big this time.
Was pleasantly surprised to receive my email today, thank you Sapience. And thank you for putting on such an amazing event, and something that we were all able to contribute to. As others have said, it's not about the goodies, but about doing the good things. Much kudos to you, Sapience, and to the community.
Very much looking forward to the 2013 event later this year...

Yep. Ability to pay isn't a consideration. What I liked best was they have "safe" play rooms. No DR or Nurse or medical person is allowed to go into those rooms for any reason other than to play with the kids. The kids are just kids in those rooms, not patients. It's where they're 'safe' from all the medical poking and prodding and being a patient. It's great.
Got my codes as well. It was not in any mean necessary but it is well appreciated (Now my character named Jokeur can be known as Jokeur The Wise!!!! Look at my forum name to understand why I am thrilled...)
Anyway, it is a good thing you specified in the e-mail not to answer you, because that's what I was about to do. I'm glad we got to help some kids!!!

Got the email today as well. Thanks for hanging in there, Sapience. I'm sure it was rough!
I also got my email today, thank you very much. It was a lot of fun donating and watching how much money was raised, and I look forward to chipping in again this year!
Good Timing

I know you had a log going on right after the marathon and I'm glad you were able to catch up before PAX.
Hope you had at least a little time to rest before jumping back in.
Only question I have - Any update on the Forums titles? I seem to remember a post about technical issues with giving us a dropdown in our profile settings to choose our title. Is that something that will be looked into when the forums are finally upgraded? I do like the new titles that we seem to have now, so that is a plus.
Not trying to complain here, just curious. I'm just glad to have helped out and glad to hear you got to visit the hospital and learn more how the funds will help. Kudos!!!
On to next year!! And hope you learned to be more prepared with the prizes.![]()
Correct. Currently the forums aren't letting us assign titles or create groups with new titles. I hope, and have asked, that this be addressed in the revisions coming later this year. As far as I know, that is currently he plan. And I have all yor email addresses so I should be able to take care of that once we get the tech issue sorted.
Thanks, Rick, for the goodies.
I was overwhelmed; apparently I didn't bother to read far enough into the original post regarding the incentives but just followed the link to contribute.Extra Life has been a "cause" that I support but as a single person the amount I can give seems like such a pittance; I was glad to have the chance to do so as part of my favorite online community and make a bigger drop in the bucket, so to speak.
The marathon was not something I could not have participated in; I am very glad that rick was able to do so for me and all the rest of the community.
And yes, I hope we raise much more next year for this very good cause!

Thanks to Rick and Victorie, and all of the participants who made such a big splash to help sick kids out.

I just knew this would happen!
I deleted the email earlier this morning when I cleaned my junk folder in a rush. I've been trying to keep an eye out for it but was distracted by some other weird looking emails apparently. Luckily, thanks to the posts on this thread, I got an update a bit ago telling me it should finally be there and I checked my deleted items and found it!
Thank you Sapience and thank you Victorie!! I can't even imagine how hard it was to organize the rewards and I appreciate that it finally came together. Looking forward to next year and good luck with your new plan whatever it may be.
But I am still curious for pics of the t-shirts and who won the lifetime account!
I have to dig around for mine, but I found a pic on Casual Stroll to Mordor. The horse is on the back, logo on front.
