The Battle League - Offical Rules and Barter rates.

    BATTLE LEAGUE
    RULES AND BARTER RATES
official chat channel: type /joinchannel BL

    RULES:
The official battle league rules are subject to change.
    EVENT PROCEDURES:
These procedures will be carried out for each sparring tournament event.

-tournaments will be held weekly for the time being. They may eventually be held daily.

-The player must send in a request to be invited into a summoning group in the battle league channel (/joinchannel BL)

-The player will be summoned to the battle league facility. PLEASE HAVE 5 TRAVELING RATIONS BEOFRE THE SOMMON

-Upon arrival, you will be dropped from the summoning group. If the player chooses to take part in the event, the player will request a trade with the summoning captain. The player will pay the entrance fee to the captain. The player will be entered into a database of players who are taking part in the event.
-After the summoning period is closed, no more players will be accepted into the event.

-admins will be announced by the summoning captain prior to the commencing of the event.

-opponents will be announced in the BL channel. If player names are long, they may be called by a shortened version. If you are confused, please ask the announcer. Upon declaration of the opponent in the channel, the players may immediately begin to spar the selected opponent.

-fights will be observed by battle league watchers as well as admins. League watchers are not officially marked but will report rule infringement to admins. If a player Is observed or reported breaking the rules, they will be called out in the BL channel by an admin and the player and their opponent will be notified by the admin and the infringing player will be dealt with according to the rules. The opponent of the infringing player will be declared the victor. PLEASE STAY WITHIN 80M OF THE ADMINS AND A REASONABLE DISTANCE FROM OTHER PLAYERS.

-the reward for a victory is a specially marked bronze hilt crafted by Dunedainn. The reward for winning the tournament is a specially marked bronze blade crafted by Dunedainn. These can be bartered in predetermined quantities for the rewards. Only hilts and blades crafted by Dunedainn are eligible for barter. DO NOT stack these with other bronze sword hilts and blades. They may lose their unique crafter ID. Only individual hilts and blades (no stacks) will be accepted during barter. Attempts to trade in fake tokens is punishable by perma-ban from all future Battle league events (rules for details). FOR THE TIME BEING: do not trade or sell these tokens on the AH. This is a temporary measure. Your character’s hilt and blade count will be in the database.

-upon victory the player will go to the nearest admin and announce their victory. The admin will verify the victory and trade you a hilt or blade. These can be bartered at the end of the event. The player may move on to the next round.

-once all the winners have graduated to the next round, your next opponent will be declared and you may commence the spar immediately.

-if there is a draw, you will have 2 more opportunities to fight. On the third draw, both players will lose. (this Is intended to dissuade tank and healing classes from trying to brute-force survival win the fights)

-if there is an odd number, one of the players will be chosen at random to move onto the next round. This player will not receive a hilt for that round.
-the final round will be announced in BL channel. The victor will receive a blade.

-after the winner is congratulated, hilts and blades may be bartered for rewards. If a certain reward is “sold out” (not on hand), you will turn in your tokens and be put on an order list. You will receive you reward within a day or two in the mail.

-tournaments are not the only event the Battle League hosts! A horse race is in development, so stay tuned! Your riding skill may just win you some hilts and blades!

    COMBAT RULES:
These rules are for mixed class tournaments. All rules are subject to change.

    Combat procedure:
-One of the combatants in the officially announced fight will challenge the other to a spar.
-in the seconds leading up to the spar, both players may set up any landscape adjustments and move at will. THIS MAKES A BIG DIFFRENCE.
-once the spar begins, it cannot move out of the chat-notification range of the admins. If the admin cannot see the “player1 has won the match against player2” chat box notification, the spar never officially took place. A player that runs out of the range will be considered to have forfeited and the opponent will be declared the winner.
    Overall rules:
-overly rude and unsportsmanlike behavior (calling someone a noob for losing etc) is grounds for either a ban from the day’s events or a perma-ban.
-Attempting to trade in faked hilts and blades is grounds for perma-ban from the Battle League.

-IN COMBAT GEAR AND WEAPON SWAPPING IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. This can (and almost always will) result in a perma-ban from the League. Don’t worry about how we’ll know, because we will know. Its more obvious than you think.

-Cappy buffs (for everyone except cappys) is not allowed. Clear these by dying. Infringement in combat will result in a warning and the nullification of a fight. any cappy seen buffing other players will be perma-banned from the league and if they continue to buff players, they will be reported.

-all players in the event must be OUT OF FELLOWSHIP.

-any other class buffs provided by other players are not allowed.

-STORE ITEMS/FOOD/POTS/BUFFS including destiny point buffs are not allowed. You will be turned away on entry if you have store buffs and using combat-enhancing store items (out of combat regen buff is not included in this category) during the tournament or fight is ground for being expelled from the day’s events and repeat offenders will be perma-banned.
    -crafted food IS allowed
-crafted tomes of defense and offence ARE allowed
    -crafted hope tokens ARE allowed
    -crafted morale/power pots ARE allowed
    -crafted/vendor Cure pots ARE allowed
-crafted class consumables and pots ARE allowed.
    -fireworks ARE allowed.

SPECIFIC CLASS COMBAT RULES: (all subject to change)
-Wardens MAY NOT use skill “defiant challenge”.
Reason: wardens can reach 90% mitigation with this skill…… NOT something very balanced when it comes to 1v1s .

-Burglars MAY NOT use trick: enrage on Hunters.
Reason: The skill would practically be an auto-win vs Hunters combined with other powerful burglar abilities.

-Captains MAY NOT use last stand
Reason: 25 seconds of invincibility is not really the definition of fair

    TEST RULE:
-Champions MAY NOT used Sudden Deference or Dire Need (true heroics is still allowed though)
Reason: these 2 skills are very potent when combined with champ DPS

-more specific rules may be added in the future if major issues arise.

-infringement of these rules will result is the opposing player winning the match.

Barter Rates: subject to minor change on a weekly basis. Prices change based on data from events. Prices remain the same for 1 week after announcement.
-10 Hilts can be exchanged for 1 blade and vice versa
Current rates as of 5/3/2013 (probably will be adjusted downwards after first event data comes in)

-Tarnished Symbol of the Elder King: 3 blades.
-Tarnished Symbol of Celembrimbor: 7 hilts.
-Tarnished Crest of Rohan: 3 hilts.
    -Relic Removal Scroll: 5 hilts.
-Riddlemark scroll of delving: 7 hilts.
    -Stat scrolls: 4 hilts
-Riddlemark scroll of Empowerment: 5 hilts.
    -starblossom: 5 hilts
    -Wyrmfire: 7 hilts
    -Sunbrand: 6 hilts
    -mooncandle: 6 hilts
-more items to be added after first event.

I should probably mention that stacking also works the other way as regards crafter ID - that is, someone could potentially win a hilt or blade fairly and then craft a few on top of it, and they would all say 'Crafted by Dunedainn'. It wouldn't be a significant problem while they are non-transferrable and being checked alongside your database, but you might want to consider it for when you do open them up for trading (which you intend to, by the sound of it).

    Good luck with this!

that's kind of what i was afraid of. i was also worried about cross-server xfers making chars named the same and crafting them, then xfering over.

I suppose the database is here to stay. But I feel the actual items in the bags of the players can be something that would be better for them to be able to track their own accomplishments instead of relying on us to hold the data.

Why would true heroics still be allowed?

Lack of gear swapping is pretty bad too.

This is a really cool idea. Hope everyone plays fair, although Wardens will rule this contest if they get to use heals in dps mode or even stance swap....

thats exactly why this is a "test" event.... to see how well classes do against one another using or not using certain skills. if it becomes a visible problem (ie champs beating the snot out of everyone by using true heroics) then it will be put in the rules.

Warden's heals in DPS are limited to my knowledge compared to the DPS of other freep classes. remember, this is freep VS freep... not PVMP.... other freep players will be doing much more damage than any creep class. If a warden has enough tank in him to heal through a dps class.... then he probably deserves to win. (think RK, with armour of storm VS a healspam warden.... not ending well for the warden)

this is intended to test player skill and knowledge... not brute force my-gear-is-better-than-your-gear. A warden may have tip-top gear but will lose against a regular RK if they can't adapt to the RK Armour of storm buff.

The purpose to the Event that this is to show skill and knowledge (and ability) rather than "my-gear-is-better-than-yours" is admirable, and a breath of fresh air to sparring/pvp. I'm hoping your Event takes off and is successful.
