They haven't confirmed or denied anything. All they said was that the Middle Earth Enterprises people pop round to their offices for tea, pie and a huge cheque a few times a year.

I doubt they pay them in real money. I think it much more likely a combo of TP, bacon sandwiches and war steed cosmetics are used. I bet MME are laughing hysterically in a pool of mithril coins, swimming around like count Ducula.

Either that or a contract up for optional renewal will be.discussed much nearer the time.... Perhaps within 6 months of that being necessary not almost 18! I think sapience made it clear they are aware that the licence is crucial and they.have zero intention of letting this slip.

Being able to play and.hopefully enjoy content in HD for probably a year would suffice for me even.if the.worst case scenario happens. Don't know how the rest of people feel but the panic seems premature to say the least.

Not necessarily, it depends on how the contract is written, it's not exactly the same thing but there's a chance it could be similar, i deal with tenancy contracts a lot and some of ours are written in a way that they have an end date, an opt out date and an extension period, they can opt out of the agreement at the opt out date or choose not to do anything to continue the contract, once they reach 30 days prior to the end date they have to notify us that they are ending the tenancy, if they do not notify us then they continue on for the extension period, no extra notification or signature requeired. It might be similar here, or it might not be. Either way i wish they would state clearly whether they have the extension or not.

This is how my rent and mobile phone contract work. They have a set period and then continue on a month by month basis until either party give notice to cancel. If this is similar to the arrangement Turbine have panic over.

This is the best confirmation we could possibly receive imo. It is a strict matter. None will show up and post signatures , don't be naive and silly. When license is about to expire , then they will renew it , and then they will let us know with a nice formal article.

Other than that , there wasn't much that made me happy , and i am still looking for a reason to come back to the game : D

The answer to Q16 is reassuring, encouraging, speaks volumes of the healthy business relationship between the two parties involved. Basically all needed intentions are there. As is the determination and wish for longevity on Turbine's side. All that's needed looks like a formality and a bit of none too hardline negotiation. Oh and us to spend cash, how's that for a sidenote?

So yeah, it's the next best answer save the formal press bulletin. And it's indeed quite pointless to whine about the answer not being an answer that cannot be given at this point in time.

Well at least Turbine seems to care about LOTRO, unlike DDO. If you've ever found out the reason you were locked out of your MMO was because Turbine didn't renew the DNS registration, you would be less certain of thier ability to promply renew the liscense.

I apologize to the OP who had the best of intentions, but sadly some people have clearly taken a view that no answer other than the one they personally disctate the wording for is a valid answer.
