A further question on class deeds-is there any chance we could have all of these unlocked by level rather than first use?
This would solve the earlier concern I had about never unlocking them if we didn't pick up the underlying skill.
And the minstrel sang to them……”and they passed in thought out to regions where pain and delight flow together and tears are the very wine of blessedness.”
I'm not entirely sure what to make of this change. There's three trees, and we currently have three lines in which to trait, each with capstone legendary traits. Leaving these traits as capstones for each tree makes sense.Q8: Schinderhannes: Will the update allow us to use 4 legendary traits at the same time? #LOTRO
A8: HoarseDev: No, but the ones you have will be more potent. #LOTRO
A8a: Deviled_Egg: Legendary traits are now a part of each trait tree, and are available for purchase at the end of the tree. #LOTRO
A8b: There is also a Legendary Passive bonus that depends on your specialization.#LOTRO
A8c: This will be unlocked when you spend a certain number of points overall. #LOTRO
But what about those legendary traits that aren't currently tied to any line? For example, on my hunter, we have rain of thorns, bard's arrow, press onward, and bow of the righteous. These "loose" legendary traits took me mind-numbing hours to grind out pages, or in one case required running Carn Dum hoping to win the drop of slime from Helcham. I know many freeps skipped Carn Dum post-F2P and purchased their traits from the store.
So from what I gather, they'll now be tied arbitrarily to some tree, and we'll be limited to using one only?
The only plus side I can see to this is a potential balancing toward Monster Play. That's about all I can come up with. And I'm sure the freeps will still be out-DPSing the creep healing and out-healing creep DPS. Thus, I'm not even sure there's any advantage at all to this change. I don't see how restricting legendary traits that have been around since SOA can possibly help undo the class homogenization that has happened over the years. We weren't homogenized in SOA, and we still had these legendary traits, and were even able to slot more than one at a time. The math just doesn't add up. Sorry, but this change seems unwarranted, and is a slap in the face to players who spent all those hours on getting their legendary traits.
