This one made me laugh. While it's not on the list of things never to say on patch day, it is on my list of things to never say if I want to get out of the office early or at a reasonable hour. Without fail, any time I tell the better half that I'm going to try to leave by X time, something ends up happening and I don't leave for several hours after that time.

I changed the list to add a note about you, since Kate seemed lonely at #5.

I imagine it starts with "everything looks good so far" and gets progressively more fate-tempting from there.

I also imagine that every one of them is based on an an actual incident.

I literally just got an email from the better half asking when I'll be home.

Never give a time... just say, "I'll call you when I get in the car"

Keeps me out of hot water, because like you... any time I used to give her a time, it never worked out that way.

Yeah! And then send her the definitions (if she doesn't already have them). And then go buy a sleeping bag. Because the dog house is your best bet.

Funny thing is, it seems like even that is cursed. A lot of construction lately has made my 50 minute commute closer to 2.5 hours more than a few times this month.

I would never survive a 2.5 hour commute. I hope you have a comfortable car.

Yea...that specific route is just chalk full of construction right now.

It's after 8 PM? Enjoy having one-lane traffic for miles.

Does that mean the complaint department about complaining about complainers is Open?

I am not entirely certain where you are located, but I had a friend who lived just outside Boston. I accidentally took a wrong turn into the city, got completely lost in underground warrens and something referred to as "the Big Dig", and needed to have a cop escort me to the right route when my GPS led me the wrong way down a 1-way street. So much fun. >.<

Welcome to Boston! We hate driving in it just as much as you do.
