after a little bit of testing and reading, i think the problem is in Adaptability (unlocked after spending 10 Ranks in the trait trees) - This passive buff will increase the GRD's block and parry ratings with every hit they receive. This effect can stack up to 3 times and will last up to 10s and will expire after or it expires when the GRD uses a block or parry response skill.

I think what is happening is that when the stack "increases" even at 3 stacks, its resetting the reactives, or overwriting them. The caveat to this is that you need to be sword and board. if you are using just a weapon, the parry works fine. It seems to be when you are getting a block response with the parry response as well.

If you un-equip a weapon do you lose you parry ability? I have honestly never looked at that. If you do, i may test the theory with block repsonses too.

I have one more test I want to run which is putting points in my tree enough to leave out Adaptability, test, then add it then test again.

    Will post results later.

Adaptability is only in blue line this bug effects all 3 lines I'm afraid.

I can soundly say that I have ran into it in all three lines.

I've spoken with at least two guards who are sword and board and tank very many mobs at a time. They are not having this issue. It's not everyone, just like the fps lag problems, etc.

Before I discount your second hand, anecdotal evidence as rubbish, perhaps there are some non-affected Guardians out there. For the rest of us, this is a bug that is trivial to reproduce. Thank you for taking part in the discussion.

Well I can safely say no trait is causing this I just deleted one of my spec trees and ran it with 0 points spent and I still get this happen.

If not all guardians are getting it and traits are not the problem I wonder what it could be. Although to be fair without a video of their screens showing that one response isn't deleting another I'd be tempted to say rather than it not happening to them they just aren't noticing it.

This didn't pop up until they made the change to catch a breath from requiring both reactives to one or the other. I'm about 90% sure that the changes to that skill borked the rest of the reactive skills.

Every time I play my Guard, and have more than one mob on me, this bug comes into play.
    Skills are definitely being overwritten.

I've being soloing a lot of the Moria instances now that I'm level 95. When gathering up 5, 6, or more mobs to take down
my reactive skills are blinking like some traffic lights. On and off, on and off.
At least 90% of the time I cannot use these skills as I should be able to.

The saddest part is that Turbine has let this go on so long without, at the very least, a hot fix.
Has a Dev even commented on this?

No, the character is not totally unplayable. It's just annoying as heck.
And as the Guard is my favorite class, it's doubly annoying.

I haven't seen a post about this from anyone with turbine associated with their name. I would love to get at least confirmation that it's being worked on. We can assume it's currently being fixed, but like you say it's a VERY big annoyance.

As much as I appreciate Turbine wanting me to play the other games I have instead of lotro I actually would like to play lotro again.

3 weeks later and still nothing. Perhaps turbine has fired whoever would actaully be able to give a response, that has to be the answer to why there haven't been a respone yet.
While we (heopfully) all would prefer it to have been fixed by now, I think most of us would be happy with even a "we're working on it", although the have been fixed part is definitely the prefered option.

I can't see this as being an intended feature of the class, thus I feel hopeful/confident it will be rectified soon, ... though doubtfully not soon enough, given the ever-present nuisance it is to deal with.

Sorry for my absence as of late, I was gone for a bit for Christmas/New year's, and have been working to get some last minute things in for 12.2

This is an issue that has been addressed though, so once 12.2 hits, you should see block and parry responses behaving as they were before.

Great news, now the question is if anyone has an idea of when 12.2 is expected.

End of January, according to Sapience.

Hopefully the bleed overwrite bug will be fixed in that one, too.

No offense, but another month of broken class? Sorry, but you guys are doing everything possible to drive off people from this game lately. This issue needed emergency hotfix! Now its gonna be 2 months, do you compensate it someway? I feel very sorry for people paying their vips and all they recieve is bugged class for 2 months with no official apology or care from the company.

So basicly we were waiting(guard class players) for you to return from your extended vacation and nobody cared. This is actually very sad for me. I was waiting for "it is a big problem, we are trying to solve this bla bla" but we were waiting someone's vacation for fix for more than a month. Enough!! I wont play this game and i wont pay anymore. This is far far away from being professional. Ban me if you want. I dont care anymore.

I seem to remember when RoI hit and the corpses/chests were giving out way too much silver there was a hot-fix for that. Nice to know a bug which seriously impacts a class' playablity is deemed low-priority enough to wait for weeks and weeks. I can only wonder how long it will take someone to sort out Catch a Breath and have the icon only light up when it's usable.

    Pathetic.

    Right...

So as a slight disclaimer there, the vacation was more in regards to a lack of communication on the forums recently and in no way affected that fix. It's something I fought to get in earlier but, as with many other aspects of development, the hotfix process is not really all that simple or cut-and-dried, so it wasn't possible this time around.

With the release of 12.2 though, amongst a few other things, the issue should be fixed, Catch a Breath should be working appropriately, and the Charge issue with slows should be resolved (This won't be present on Bullroarer, but should be going live with the update).

Is the issue with Radiate overwriting stronger with weaker bleeds getting fixed in 12.2?

It won't be on bullroarer, but I'm pretty sure I found the issue, so the fix should be able to make it in with 12.2
