Take the Hobbits to Isengard!

Quick question - where will the server announcements be? Here, FB, Twitter?

Two very important comments to start off.
First, congrats to Gilrain! 1h22m55s and I didn't die. Better results than I expected.

Second, because of the great turn out both in game (more than 150 players) and on twitch (more than twice that many watching), we've created an official Twitch.tv channel for LOTRO. This is going to let us do a lot more of these types of things more regularly. So you should check it out. All future Take the Hobbits to Isengard challenges will be streamed from : http://www.twitch.tv/lotrostream

There are also going to be a few changes to the general rules for the challenge. Rather than having to kill the trolls at the gates of Isengard, the challenge is no to simply get me through the gates. As long as "entering Isengard" shows up on my screen, it's a success. We discovered in our first run that either intentionally or accidentally killing the trolls makes it impossible to complete the challenge as originally laid out due to the very long respawn times on the trolls.

Also, later this week we'll be posting up a full scheduled of servers and times. Please keep in mind we're trying to accommodate players based on the regional distribution of the players on that server. So, like last week, a server with a European centric player base will have times in the earlier part of the day in terms of Eastern US times, but will conincide with early evening for those on the server. Also keep in mind, we'll be trying to accommodate developers schedules as well, so some NA centric servers may have early times as well so we can get developers into the chat, taking questions, and talking with you. Because the number of EU centric and NA centric servers are about equal, we'll try to flip back and forth as much as possible.


Remember, from here on out everything is being streamed at http://www.twitch.tv/lotrostream so favorite that channel to get the notices when the streams go live.

You may not be able to join the raid that Sapience's character is in but you can certainly catch up. I and a couple of other people were providing fairly frequent location updates since people that were not in the same layer weren't always aware of the route that Sapience took and would have had trouble getting back to the group otherwise.

That would be awesome. I was kinda disappointed there for a bit, thinking that if I was late I just couldn't join in.

Sounds like players on the west coast probably won't get to participate. Let alone the poor Aussies/Kiwis/other Oceanic types.

Are MLK Day and/or Presidents Day Turbine holidays? If not, I think Brandywine, Vilya, or Arkenstone would be *great* choices for next Monday! Or for Feb. 17th if this is still going on by then. (*Totally* not self-serving recommendations, not at all!). Weekends would also work nicely for allowing most players to participate, though obviously not so much for you and/or devs having the time off...

I'll just keep my fingers crossed that Silverlode gets an early afternoon/early evening time in the USA so that maybe, just maybe if I decide to get up at 3am or 4am for a bit I can take part in it for a while. However, based on most events, I'll just have to read about it later.

They haven't been scheduled yet. If their turns had already passed they would have been listed in the original post as Gilrain, the first server to take part, is still listed even though it's run has already happened.

Great Idea. We need more of this to get more people going to lower areas. I really miss the conglomerations of players going in and out of Bree, Moria and so. Keep this things going.

5:00PM EST should be 23:00 in belgium. (EST-> GMT = +5, and then add +1 for your GMT+1. Or in short: EST-> CET = +6)

5 PM Pacific (8 PM Eastern): News from Elendilmir:

We got the hobbit to Isengard. We fetched up on the steps
on the eastern side of Orthanc, holy Valar, what a mob. Whh
ran along the flank of the main party, killing things right 'n'
left and winning the commendation of Pearldrop, who was
more or less leading the party. I killed a couple of wights
in the Bonevales and a couple of Dunlendings near Grimbold's
camp. Hardacar survived. We all cheered.
