    Moria

So, I just got access to Moria on my beorning. He is level 53. I normally don't bother with Moria. I am not a fan of that area. But this time around I was preparing for the worst as I did not want to sacrifice the trait points. But how many trait points can a beorning get in Moria? We don't get the book one or the rep one? Are there others? Aside from virtues and just general completion stuff, can I freely run through Moria and not feel guilty about lost trait points?

For that matter, can a hunter just port me to Loth and save me the run?

If you skip Moria you won't miss out on any class trait points. The 2 points normally given by the Iron Garrison Guards book & Volume 2 Book 6 are bestowed to the Beorning as rewards for the L15 & L30 class quests.

Unless you have Friend standing (and have talked to the elf at the front entrance of CG) a hunter cannot port you into the city. If you want to avoid a trip through Moria, have a captain summon you to the other side of it.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will bum around Eregion a bit more and get to 55 or so and then get summoned to the other side and pick things up there.

Keep in mind, the lvl 58 Class quest (Orc Watch) still awards a Trait Point.

Ah, I overlooked that. But at least that's just one quest chain as opposed to spending an extended period of time in Moria for 6 books of the epic or getting reputation from quests/items.

Don't forget the 3 Beorning class books, they award 3 trait points each. These are the collect pages of blah blah blah deeds. The 3 books can be found on the Beorning Trader in the 21st hall.

Or the Beorning Trainer in the Vales of Anduin, which hopefully got picked up at level 39.

    This.

Completing Enmity of Goblins II will get you the racial trait, Return to Grimbeorn's Lodge. So, you should be able to have access to a Trainer before leveling to 39.
And, half the pages can be found in Angmar/Eregion, and the second half can be found in Forochel/Misty Mountains. So, one could have completed those deeds long before they ever got into Moria.

The main point of the Beorning trainers in Moria, Lothlorien and Mirkwood are to barter for racial armor from their respective instance clusters.

Thats fantastic news, having been through moria on now 7 charecters its an absolute no go for me anymore. The last few I brought through were specifically to finish the books and get the trait points. Im thrilled we dont have to do this anymore.

Do note: That only applies to Beornings. The pre-existing 9 classes still have to get their Trait Points the old fashion way.

    Other Classes
    8 Meta-Deeds: 22 Class Deeds, lvl 15/30 Class Quests
Trait Point from lvl 45 Class Quest
Trait Point from Class Book from Moria Guards
    Trait Point from V2B1-6
Trait Point from lvl 58 Class Quest

Trait Point from lvl 15 Class Quest
Trait Point from lvl 30 Class Quest

Appreciate it. I think the beorning will be the last class I level in LOTRO. Running through the 1-30 content, again, was tiring as ive seen it all so many times. It is what it is, but im not going to be heartbroken skipping moria, not in the least. Great the first three times, then they re did it making the little camps everywhere which was nice. Its a great region and I hope any new player who comes in goes to it, turbine did a great job on that entire expansion IMHO.

    Book Points

I mostly skipped Moria, but one thing to remember is that you will need to "collect" pages from mobs to complete your Book s and get those points; that involves killing a lot of goblins and orcs.
For my part, i went back into Moria at level 70 and finished out my pages killing greyed-out orcs and goblins in about 45 minutes.

Yeah I had to go back into Moria to grind the pages. Fired up Fil Gashan (a truck-ton of orcs) with some kinnies and got them all well under half an our. Good fun as always, too bad Bears lack AOE skills.
