Talking to Supplier has the same effect. If I want to vendor trash loot I always go to healer or Grocer NPC. Loads much faster.

I typically see vault performance degradation around server reset time. I've seen some call out in world chat that they're having issues with the vault when I'm not having issues, so this isn't a universal problem. Part of it most definitely is on the database server's side, as indicated by the correspondence to server reset time backend jobs running. Vault access is a lower priority database process compared to regular client updating for movement or combat, so I mostly don't sweat it. The supplier NPC has a much longer list of items to load and sort, so yes, going to a healer NPC would be faster for the purpose of selling junk. I'll often use the West Bree grocer for that.
