When shutting down the festival, there was quite an uproar. It would have been nice to have communicated this in-game to help with that.

Since there is no Spring festival, can you gives us some other type of event for this holiday weekend and the next one.
How about a Mark bonus weekend -> May 21st -May 25th. (Lots of us need the marks with the new imbuement costs.)

I don't think the whiners who can't handle a few hours away from the computer and who complain about downtime should dominate everything. As a casual player who is a student, I was really looking forward to Spring Fest this year because I actually had time to do it, and haven't in the past. I've been playing this game four years, and every time it occurred, it was either during finals week or something else that prevented me from getting any rewards. Can you guys just have it with the same old rewards, and maybe add new ones in a week? Maybe extend the festival a few days?

Thank you Turbine for all that you do! Sorry that you get so much #### from people anytime you have downtime and are trying to fix things. -_-

Kinda rude there was no announcement in chat about what was going on since people were in the middle of turning quests in/completing quests, etc.

As you may have noticed, the Spring Festival went live and there were no new rewards this year. This was not intentional. We actually have some new rewards for you, they however decided that they were not going to show up.

In light of this, we are turning off the festival for now and will reschedule it to go live a little closer to summer, on June 9^th. This will be around the time of Update 16.1 and will fit in with what we already have as a scheduled downtime for the update.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and we do hope you will enjoy the new rewards once we have turned back on the Spring Festival and everything is working as intended.

It could not be done the same day. It takes longer to implement than you might think and like Frelorn said, minimizing downtime for players is an important factor.

I don't mind a longer break before the next festival starts, it came at a good time for me since I have some things I need to do before the festival starts but I'm a bit worried that Spring Festival and Summer Festival will be too close together now. Please try to give us as long a break as possible between festivals so as not to make us get burned out from festival overload

Was there briefly today when the festival popped up (I'm no good at that quest, so my tactic is to get there first and have a few tries while it's still quiet). Got the big shrew three times, but just empty boxes like last year (while that drop rate is like it was last year, it just makes the room keep filling up). Within ten minutes the room was so full, lag prevented any kind of decent movement, players with active, stacked speed buffs everywhere, bog guardians everywhere obstructing view - just one big mess which made me promptly leave the arena as usual.

Maybe you could add this cosmetic pet to a grindy barter? Or put a CD on the quest, or reduce the layer size or something. The lag when the layer gets full is really bad.

Yeah, I came on just to do the festival since there's nothing else to do. I can't say I'm surprised by this honestly. Mistakes like these have become more and more frequent over the years, like this game is just in harvesting mode for Turbine before it shuts down once we hit Mordor and destroy the Ring.

Happily, this isn't the only game out there, so I'm going back to GW2. Lion's Arch is changing and being repaired, so I'm going to check it out among other things. Maybe I'll check back here on June 9th, see if there's something to do.

I was thinking the same thing. Last year I got it once but other than that it was impossible to get due to lag. Personally the pet should be bound to account that way it can't be sold and the ones who get it can allow others to get one as well. Though a barter one would be good also. Helps with the huge grind it takes to even get one. After all. Lotro did allow the pets from Extra Life to be sold so the least they could is make people happy by fixing their mistake.

While I appreciate that you've done this to fix something that's broken, I think perhaps it would be an idea to look at the spacing of the festivals in general. There is currently rather a long wait between the winter festival and the spring festival, then very quickly we get summer, autumn and christmas. And there's the farmer's festival in there too. Perhaps the seasonal festivals could be split a bit more evenly so they actually fall around the natural event that signifies the change of season? Spring at the equinox, summer at the solstice, autumn at the equinox, winter at the solstice?
