    Ettenmoors cloaks.

I have noticed that the last couple of updates have not included an update to the cloaks. Now maybe I have missed something in past posts, but I wonder why the cloaks have not been upgraded to level 100 like the armor.

    Yes, it's true, unfortunately!

Ettenmoors cloaks are totally broken since update 13 for absolutely no reason!

They never said why did they make them so lame; now, they're only useful as cosmetics!

I remember well that the r15 cloak, for instance, was the best option for a Hunter class and the r14 one was so cool for casters! My Minstrel was really lucky to wear it in PvP area

    when it was still op.

They really need to upgrade them and remake them again useful for freeps, as well!

What exactly are you wondering about? PvP isnt top of the food chain in LOTRO so the gear gets updated well behind others. This isnt anything new its standard operating procedure. Are you new to lotro PvP ?

It would be nice if the pvp cloaks actually made a difference, but I dont think that'll be happening anytime soon unfortunately. I understand the lower ranked cloaks being bad, but the fact the rank 10+ ones dont do anything worth while is pathetic.

I don't understand how this can be considered standard operating procedure to not update the cloaks to the current level cap when they update the armor, rings, etc. to the current level cap which is now 100. BTW, I have been playing LOTRO since the level cap was 65. Since the cloaks are at a max level of 85, that means they have upgraded them in the past. Seems to me that they have been over looked by the devs. That was the reason for my inquiry. Was there a reason for the cloaks to remain as they are or was it an oversight on the part of the devs.

I think what we are seeing is the development team being a smaller team than what is was before thus having less resources to do what they previously were able to do. Moors cloaks are just one thing of many that have taken the back-burner relative to priority. Turbine seems to be in a situation where they are having to do more with less. Something has to give and itemization seems to be one of those areas.

Nuth, I believe that you are correct. It is my hope that some one on the dev team will read this thread and fix this small problem. I am not holding my breath.

i dont think its much work to upgrade stuff to the current lvl and its not just the moors cloak its also the offhand stuff (i really liked that) or symbols was a good idea too....
now atm you really dont have a goal except rankfarming or testing your skill 1vs1
i personally started pvp because i wanted the awesome warden shield back on lvl75? (maybe 85)

I certainly miss some of the old PvP cosmetics with the shield, off hand weapons, and armor. That chainmail dress heavies got were to die for.

Should just make them like flying carpets or something 2 in 1, give point to the cloaks and more pvp rewards (flying carpet pet)

I tire of the player base making excuses for the development team and WB. How hard would it be to code ONE module that was responsible for scaling all of the static items up that should move up with the cap increases? Same with the skills on my bar that have been left in the dust like man heal.

In no other part of our free market economy does the customer make excuses for the service provider. I have to do more with less at my job, and guess what? I still respond to what the customers need. Heck, even a response would be better than what we get from turbine anymore.

So please, don't make excuses, raise the bar, expect results, these are your dollars in play here. Get what you deserve.

This is my snarky post; considered and reasoned post to follow.

Turbine creates PvMP where ranking is literally several orders of magnitude more of an investment than any other achievement in the game.

Turbine creates rank cloaks as reward and visible indicator for ranking, stats are useful only as cosmetic.

Turbine disables cosmetics in the moors.

My guess is Turbine uses some sort of Agile or Scrum methodology. If that's the case the product backlog (list of things to do in layman's terms) is worked on in order of value, not always in terms of ease of completion. High value items rise to the top and low value items sink. My guess is just due to raw metrics all PvMP stuff sinks naturally; even when they seem like crazy low hanging fruit.

    Frustrating? Yeppers! Understandable....unfortunatel y.

My suggestion for some of these 'legacy' items that get created and then left behind should be treated as sort of a technical debt. Because they're not coded to scale they need to be cleaned up every once and awhile. It's kinda like updating the vendors; remember when they didn't update them in GV?

LotRO is an impressive project spanning what? going on 9 years now? It's frustrating when things like this happen and you'd think they would have more of them ironed out than it seems but I think your point is spot on.
