[spoiler alert] Sad fate for Floid and Dewitt

I regret to inform you all that our beloved couple of globe-trotters seems to have met an untimely end in Dunland.
To be precise, they have been apparently crushed by a huge rock fallen from the sky.
    Life in Middle-Earth is dangerous.

The good news is that, even in this tragic state, they can still advance the deed

That's not a rock, that's how they camouflaged their flying saucer so they wouldn't get in trouble with the lore police.

When I did it with another alt just a few months ago, they were still alive and (especially Floid) kicking.

Scarycrow makes his NPCs hardy because I see Floid and Dewitt alive and well inside the rock. If all goes well, they should break free by the next patch

Oh, is that why I couldn't see them at all. (In the
screenshot, I mean; I've never been to that particular
    rock.)

This happens from time to time; I once had to turn
in a quest in Moria, only to find the NPC below the
floor of the 21st Hall. I could select him, but not see
him, and more to the point I couldn't turn in to him.

Yes, I could select them with F10, I was just wondering if that was an intentional (although mysterious) sort-of-easter egg.

That's nice to hear. It could be also an occasion to introduce a third F&D exploration deed: there are many new and old areas that they did not visit yet.

    Definitely not intentional
