Can someone explain, "Snowball," to me?

How do you get this to activate? How do you use it? I think its supposed to be a large heal...how does this happen?

Passive skill gained when you put points to Tier 3 in watcher- 'Snowball - Healing skills build a stacking buff, at max stack, you can use a powerful heal.
    Unlocks skill: Perfect ending'

Perfect ending lights up and gives you a crit heal. (check it is on your tool bar-it also appears as a little skill toggle on the additional pop up bar when it opens.)
    "Perfect Ending:
Used at the at 7 stacking of healing buff in blue line
    large single-target heal"

We have a lot of random crits, stacked and proc heals which radomly draw adds and aggro like meat does flies. This makes controlled low level sustained healing very difficult. but it makes huge numbers easy to post in glff.

And the minstrel sang to them……”and they passed in thought out to regions where pain and delight flow together and tears are the very wine of blessedness.”

    Thanks Calta

I understand now. You get up to Tier 5 Snowball and while you are healing Perfect Ending lights up. Makes sense now.

Just fill your first tree/spec with all points in red-and re-organise your quickslots. Then go blow stuff up for a while on the landscape. Then try changing stances out of dissonance to see what disappears from your slots as you do.
The hard bit will be getting the skills to save where you need them-threads a many on this.

Then fill second tree/spec with blue and do a solo skirm or group as healer. You will be pretty unkillable so try a skirm and practice on your soldier until you get used to the missing threat down and virtually no dps skills/anthem/codas for self defense, and the multiple insane heal crits*. Try stance changing to melody (what was harmony pre HD) while staying blue traited and see what skills change-this is a pretty comfortable option for practising grouping in.

Then either buy a third spec for mithral and try yellow. Or not. Yellow is half dps half heal (does neither very well) but I use it for the group buffs as I duo with a warden mostly and he doesn't need heals but does like the anthem stacking and the tale and the CtG. I use red to dps then repsec to yellow for boss fights and spam inspire fellows/CoS between stacking damage ballads and anthems.

If you've done all your class deeds at 95 you'll have 65 points. If not-be warned-you'll need to spec yellow for song of aid to get that class point.

My advice is try mucking around. The elegance and ability to react/set up your leg skills to specific instance/group needs has gone and yellow is still a mess, but we are nearly unkillable in blue and viable as aoe/burst dps in red. I have been told frequently in 3 mans to just dps.

Most classes are easier to play and very simple and OP in at least one line. We are very OP in blue. (Heal-bot is the preferred term :P) EG: I solo 'tanked' the last boss in Sari-suma blue traited last night while the warden ran all the way back after being punted off the edge. He's used to me using mainly yellow spec, so no 'rally', and he released b4 he remembered i was in blue for a change. Despite it being a six man, I had no trouble staying alive taking all the boss' damage. I just spammed Triumphant Spirit and then bubbles then CoS then what ever was off cd.

We have duod OE tier2C, Halls of Night tier 2C, Warg Pens tier2, sword halls , and Necromancer skraid for seals, all with me in yellow/melody. The ones we've had trouble with so far, are ironically, Sammy ( i'd need more reliable dps-but i've rebuilt for crits/finesse so it may be doable for me now) and the last fight in Sari-suma - for that i will try straight red/bit of yellow and dissonance for the freezing spirits. Was too late to try last night. Oh, and Lost Temple's last fight was a fail-no way am i up to duoing/three-manning that.

This is how we stay challenged and amused and get gear/seals in the absence of any content that needs heals. Meanwhile Cloudie-wan and others have started a minstrel solo thread if that's your thing

I just pick up ore and wood these days looking for emerald shards. I did enough Big Battles (boooooring) to get all my teals and 2 gold pockets, then realized it was a waste of time to go any further because there's just nothing new to get and no new content to heal for me. Armour at 95 is crafted, so essentially I'm just on hold until there's new content. I haven't bothered to level any of my alts.
I'd explain it to you, but I'm all out of Puppets and Crayons.

Skills that seem broken-let's try again to get help

Just thought I'd disturb the crickets
So far there has been no official response to any of the minstrel threads/bugs/class deed questions from turbine since november 23 when Egg confirmed our 2 bubbles, rally available in other specs for some minis, and fellowships' heart being available in red/WS were bugs and would be removed in 12.1. Which they were. There are now 3 pages of responses by other devs in the dev tracker thread to 'their' classes, so I am hoping that as the holidays are over, we may get some help now.

Here is what was allegedly fixed in 12.1

    Minstrel
    - Traits -

Trait "Soothing Voice" is being balanced down to provide +2% Outgoing Healing / Rank
Trait "Poignant Phrase" is being balanced down to provide +4% Critical Healing / Rank
Set Bonus "Open Ears" now has a 50% chance to apply but also has a 30s cooldown.
Set Bonus "Harmonious Anthems" should no longer break set Coda of Melody's fellowship heal.
"Sharing a Story" should no longer reset Piercing Cry on normal hits.
Several traits ceased displaying trait info when fully ranked. This should now be fixed.
Warrior Skald Set Bonus 1 "Discordant Ballads" now grants "Fresh Voice", a short-term Tactical Damage buff gained when swapping into Dissonance stance

    - Skills -

Fellowship's Heart can no longer be used in Dissonance Stance
Minstrel Stances will now be organized under a single heading in your skills page
Cry of the Wizard's Cooldown is being reduced from 60s-->30s
Skill "Perfect Ending" will no longer be placed in your quickslot bars automatically
Echoes of Battle should now be associated with the Stance "Melody." Melody of Battle should now be associated with the stance "Resonance."
Melody of Battle should properly dispel when swapping out of Resonance Stance.
Changing Stances will no longer dispel your active Anthems.
There are some bugs I've noticed about skills that really need fixing before the inevitable nerf in 12.2.

Coda of Melody is still not working as intended for me: the heal part in PoS/melody stance is still broken while traited PoS for the harmonious anthems bonus.

Melody of battle in resonance (heals) while traited PoS does this at level 95
    "384 parry rating
relect 18-34 damage." Just enough to accidentally kill the crabain in school through the teeny reflect, and no use anywhere else. As for the parry....?

The improved group hammerhand bubble does bubble 3 fellows. At 95 they get a bubble that 'grants 1165 morale' on characters with 13k-25k morale! I still have the bubble reflex from pre HD so i often pop it and watch it burst. Doesn't seem to prevent knockbacks on fellows either.

Also my level 90 pots no longer seem to remove fear/wounds etc, on me that improved story of courage does remove. They worked until a few days ago. Has anyone else had this problem? (And yes I do use pots. Some old instances need it.)

Yes, I am ignoring the trait trees set up for the moment. It's been pretty obvious none of that is going to change.

However, I would have thought the class deed issue for SoHH, raised in threads below would have been a priority to acknowledge at least. As would fixing the notoriously useless song of aid trait point gate that is discussed at length elsewhere. (Fingers crossed for the folks trying to get the legendary skill and deeds done that this is fixed.)

    Anything else?

I don't see Inspiring echoes listed in the Stance skills, although it is listed in New Skills.
    By the way, Awesome job!

    Trait tree/skill stats:

    Watcher of Resolve:

    -Fate/Will tree bonus
    If we have the formula: Will|Fate bonus = (F * lvl + C) / D
    then the following segments exist:
    F C D Startlvl Endlvl
    7 -149 5 60 100
    10 48 12 50 59
    10 9 12 30 49
    10 10 12 1 29
    -Legend of Helm Hammerhand
    Morale bonus = 10.27 * lvl + 189 ?

    Warrior-Skald:

    -Enduring Morale
number of morale slices of current player level:
    tier1: 2.0
    tier2: 2.4
    tier3: 3.0
    tier4: 3.4
    tier5: 4.0

    -Finesse
number of finesse slices of current player level:
    tier1: 0.4
    tier2: 0.8
    tier3: 1.2
    tier4: 1.6
    tier5: 2.0

    -Cry of the Valar
    ICMR bonus = 22.22 * lvl + 118 ?

    Protector of Song:

    -Tale of Tales (aura)
    Vitality|Will|Fate bonus = 0.9 * lvl
    Armour bonus = 12.12 * lvl
    Tactical Mitigation bonus = 7.575 * lvl
Dissonance bonus: 1 slice of finesse of current player level
    Harmony bonus: -5% power costs
    Resonance bonus: +5% incoming healing

    -Anthem of Composure
Resist bonus = ? (likely segmented)
    Tactical Mitigation bonus = 50/3 * lvl ?

    -Tactical Mastery
number of mastery slices of current player level:
    tier1: 0.8
    tier2: 1.6
    tier3: 2.4
    tier4: 3.2
    tier5: 4.0

    -Strength of Helm Hammerhand
number of mastery slices of current player level: 1.2 each

    Notes:
    1) ? = not yet verified for all levels
    2) about slices see: https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...he-stat-system

This thread is four years old. Why is it still stickied?
As a level 1 burglar, Bilbo got a pony when he joined the Smaug The Dragon raid. Then he asked for leadership, looted the chest, assigned himself the 1st age Arkenstone and mailed it to an alt (Bilbo's a VIP so can mail from anywhere). They did some PvMP and an Epic Battle, then he apologized and gave the Arkenstone back because it wasn't BoA. He kept the pony.
