I am genuinely curious what to do for armour out in the 'moors with.. well.. any class, but specifically a Red-line Minstrel. I know that the essence armour allows you to focus on certain stats or increasing mitigations/masteries, but what of the Ettenmoors armour (Aud gear)? Is it still a decent choice to go for full aud gear, or are the glory days of aud gear in the past?
Just a note that I plan on soloing quite a lot, so whatever gives me the best survivability and damage.
I agree with the last poster.....wait until the new map/gear comes out. I've done a fairly complete study of the current pvp gear and imo don't use more than 2 pieces in the current system. I'm also redline and although I have 4 pieces of armour, I don't use any when I'm soloing. Depending on how you are currently equipped, the trade off between morale and audacity isn't worth it.
Soloing the moors as a mini can be a bit dangerous, especially if you get caught by surprise by wargs or ba's. You have powerful 45M ranged skills which is outside any creeps range.....Use it to your advantage. Also........Resistance is often overlooked in PVE.....it's just not that important. In the moors, it's critical.
The basic guide is
Use Essences for Morale and Will/Mastery (as a healer you wont need Will/Mastery, just Morale)
Virtues for Resistances mostly, also Mits
The new armor gives a lot of Mits and crit defence (use Essences to cap them, with my virtue setup I think I'm using 2 physical and 1 Tactical on Beta and I'm sufficiently overcapped so that I'm still capped after Creep armor debuffs)
Crit comes mostly from relics (True Setting of the North, T10 Gem with Vitality/Crit, one of the Attack Duration relics, Will/Mastery/Crit handcrafted relic), as a Minstrel I think you'll need an additional Crit Essence
