    Saving E Community

In order to save the E Community, whether we get enough to save E server or we need to all to transfer to one of the new world servers. plz post here, guild, group of friends, players from other server wanting to return to the E-C(ommunity), players with larger number of toons and accounts like my self and any other type of toon/accounts. post which you want to move too if going to be a new server, or if you are moving right away, post, so people can all try to go to the same server. i will personally stay on E server for a bit to see what happens before moving my 3 accounts. Guilds it is super important you make a message of the day for your guildies so they know which server you doing too and guild post here, which server you went too. In-case returning players can not find anyone logged on to old E server this will be a place they can refer too find there guilds and there server.

if someone can make this a sticky plz do so it doesn't get lost or keep bumping it up daily so it doesn't get lost in all the posts. feel free to add anything i might have missed in the first post or correcting my typing or understand as you all know im quite dyslexia.

[World] Wiggiwawa: 'since it's the unofficial Oceanic and South America server. " (added)

this is another reason to keep the E-C, Alaska, Hawaii, Asia, Aussie, Pacific Islands, California and other Oceanic-ish Time Zones. This make is easyer to get the groups when players are on near the same time zone as you. Being from Hawaii myself, it a real pain to be in the middle of a raid and having all your raid member go to bed because it 4-6hours different from your own.

if i can get some people to comment on the benefits of this E-C that would be helpful, ie free give aways, helpful info etc, plz do. (personal experience, server as a whole, etc etc)

voice your view, thoughts, opinions, hopes, needs, and wants on the thread Saving E Community, however, i melk will be waiting to see what happens, im in no rush, i just to want to channel all that energy some place and maybe get a direction we all can go' (added)

HERE A GENERAL POLL FOR E THAT SOMEONE IS USING, POST YOUR WANTS http://vote.pollcode.com/38237982 (poll fixed)

The E I knew died a long time ago when Turbine released fewer and fewer updates, botched the updates it released, took limited measures to improve longstanding bugs and other quality of life things, and generally seemed uncommunicative regarding players' input. The E I knew quit the game or enjoyed an exodus - upon which Turbine profited for a long time - server hopping looking for better conditions elsewhere. The E I knew cannot be saved as it's long gone.

Not trying to be all doom and gloom. However, tbh, I don't really care if E is closed or it survives, as long as people who want to can xfer off of the server.

I think Melk was more trying to create a forum where people could post where they intend to go, helping others decide. I wish there was an option for all of us to be fork-lifted (all E accounts) to one server (with an opt out option to go to another sever). I love the community on E - always have since 7 years ago starting out. I just want to end up in the same place as most people, but we need a forum like this for people to say where that is.

If the kinships all post where they are headed, that will help us all decide. Ideally they will talk to each other and most of us will target one server. At least that's my selfish view of wanting to keep this great community and some of the history in tact.

As I jibberish in chat, The 2 servers I play on, (and have most of my names) are pretty much 5th or 6th.

My plan differs give or take details.

If Big E stays, then time to welcome all new players to the friendly Oceanic server. Hopfully will pick up some more Aussie/Kiwi/Japan users tp ,ox in with NA and Euro crowd.
Where to active of a server over long time frame to give up.

Big E gets the Trash Can? And Meneldor is open? I may... (Insert coin toss) go there.

If Mene and Big E close, the top active servers...

Gladden was slow, and kinda dead my last few visits name searching, Only 2 of my names are useable, rest are on active players. Not likely a choice.
Landy is RP server... and not my thing. And rather stay with Big E crowd we got going. All my names are used, or in use. So... no happening.
BW is closed, and.. I do not care for the crowd. E is full of older crowd it seems, BW comes off as 10-18yo's.

Outside that... I will stay on Big E till 2016, and spend my last moments there. And die with server. And go back to other games on my ps4 (which have more out by then)

I've researched my options, and not really happy in any form.

So I hope Big E stays, the crowd we have, and no matter time I play. Good peeps on I know. I'm Japanese and American... Know plenty of Aussie.
I need that, I need Big E's openess to everybody thing its got going.

Few of other server that may beat us... honestly been on them handful of times back in day, didnt like crowd, and could not find any names. (which wont /might not be issue.)
But names like Makie, Kyoko, Manami and such are common to be taken, and fighting several servers to get them, is gonna SUCK.

I played on this server for it's oceanic server base, I don't want that screwed with, and if it is I'm going where that oceanic base is and/or where this outstanding servers community decides if this happens.

I started talks with the other groups in ESKA about coordinating the move if we have to go elsewhere. Brandywine is not an option, and we aren't interested in Landroval (most of us RP in real life, not interested in MMO land). Which leave 3, whoever they may be. I guess once we know which servers are staying we can make a decision.

I also have a few characters in Nimrodel and friends with an Aussie kin there, I'll encourage them to move wherever the rest of us are.

Melk, I think Gena was going to rope you into our potential mass move too

Working under the assumption Elendilmir is closing (I'm pretty sure we're not in the top 5, current logins-wise), we (Ring Guard of Rivendell) plan to officially move to Gladden. I have noticed a very similar environment there to what we saw in Elendilmir originally -- very friendly people, and some unusual hours presence for our non-US members (the kin we are playing with on Gladden has a large international membership). I hope the Oceanic players move there as well, the constant presence of players was one of the things we truly enjoyed.

Also, don't worry too much about how quiet a server is. If it is one of the 5 remaining open, it will definitely end up less quiet. Also, if most people from the Oceanic kins move to the same place, the off hours presence on E should remain wherever they move. I just hope it's Gladden.

Hey thanks for the thread Melkorjrrt

So having check the main thread about server transfers. I see Vyvyanne has confirmed there will be no official US Oceanic server and it is up to us to designate one unofficially. Sorry I'm not very good with the quote system on the forums from other threads, so can only paste, but this is from Vyvyanne, page 21 of the server transfer thread.

"We do appreciate all of our Oceanic Players, but we do not feel comfortable making an Official Oceanic world as we will not be officially supporting those play hours or languages specifically and with the reduced number of world we do not want to discourage players from other regions from playing on the server due to such a designation. However, I do encourage the Oceanic community to discuss amongst themselves a world to move enmasse to and publish that here on the forums as well as in World chat and other locations where your friends can see it and follow."

Having discussed with the kin I am in "All the Kings men" we are all in the same boat. Currently there is 7 of us who are active Kiwis/Aussies. We love the Big E environment and culture. We have no interest in Brandywine or Landroval. So it is a wait and see what the other 3 servers will be. But we would like to go where the majority of other 'E' people go

Well I had a look at a few servers just from judging off those graphs

Brandywine(2007) - definately not utter lagfest, overpopulated, trolls, too many kids awful community. [Closed]
Landroval(2007) - RP - It wasn;t bad, lots of role players; nice people, it is already very large imo. And not sure if I want to be on a RP server when I don't RP. PVP was zerg heavy with the skill level absolute awful. Will be the first one to fill up I think.
Gladden(2007) - I liked it had a good size, good community, plenty of action when I checked in for pvp.
Crickhollow(2010) - I liked it ( maybe little bias) Good community, pvp more suitable for small groups. Maybe a little more casual.

Sadly for Landy gladden and crick E still has a more oceanic population and round the clock by judging when I login or top 3 still so I am not sure, will await further news and for the date and actual servers, not speculation.

Actually Landroval has a very active Oceanic community with a recent but very rapidly growing kinship and with formal community alliances: "The Oceanic Warriors" does kin runs several times a week, has an active nostalgia, slowish levelling group, and open public raids and BBs at least twice a week. Suggest you check out their kinsite. They also host an open to the community team speak.
    see this http://www.oceanic-warriors.com/
I am an emissary not a kin member so I am not touting for business

GLFF and world may seem inactive for getting groups but that is because there is a community created channel for that for raiders and capped players. And there is a low level grouping channel. And a RP specific channel. And a russian channel. And possibly others I am unaware of.

As for PVP, yeah I hear it's bad if you don't like larger groups but it is active and nowhere near as toxic as on other smaller servers where PvP incidents/alliances/hissyfits can break up established kins and drive people away from the server completely, due to small town syndrome. A lot of active PvPers have transferred in the last year from dramalode, crick, and ridder so it maybe different from what you experienced in the past.

BTW most Landroval players I know do not formally RP but do enjoy the events and concerts run and sustained by the RP community. Music is very noticable part of ME on Landy. As is the use of cosmetics -it's cool to be a raider/PvPer and obsessed with your wardrobe or pet collection. This is a big plus for me. But apart from the public concerts, as long as you stay out of the Pony, you won't even know it's a RP server most of the time. Just don't call yourself something clearly in breach of CoC and/or offensive, don't grief RPers and concerts, and you'll be right, mate.

Of the three servers I have been active on, Landroval world is generous, funny, helpful and it is quite multicultural-although not as much so as Laurelin. Peeps are NEVER reported for speaking spanish or russian in chat. On Landy someone usually uses google translate to point people in the direction of non english speaking kins and channels. It's very different from Brandy. Even the ./world trolls are generally coralled by the community before things get to the reporting stage. I actually tried a few alts on E before I transferred to Landroval but I found more action and more welcome to a new resident at my play times (Aussie peak) than I did on E.

    cheers, Pera
(I am an Aussie btw, so I'd love to see more of us on my server.)

Big E is my Original Server, and home to most of my characters. The Oceanic community on E helped me save such sanity as I retain when I had some medical rough times, and the 24/7 nature of E was almost a literal life-saver. Some things that can be done and might help (I hope) are:\

    (1) Log in and play as much as you can. It is late in the day, but it could help.

    (2) If you can find a few bucks you can spend on LOTRO, spend them while on E. I really think server cash flow will be a Turbine consideration and, again, even though it's Late Days, it could help.

    (3) If we find out Monday Elendilmir not one of the 'Surviving Five', discuss the potential target servers and communicate your inclinations.

On this point, I would say Landy is not all RP - there is a very active RP core, but also a core of non-RPers that are not Bad Folks (I be one of them). There are good folks on Gladden and Crick as well (I have 'outpost' characters there). Brandywine is not going to be an option initially, and it is a lag-fest and badly infected with trolls, IMO. Meneldor is OK as well, but is about even with Elindilmir in pop. My opinion only - Brandy, Landy and Gladden are 'in' for NA and the other two spots are open, depending on the parameters Turbine uses in their evaluations, and E is very much in that mix, with Meneldor and Crick. Hoping really hard for E & Meneldor myself.
Be well and good questing, all! See you about Middle Earth another time!

Many of us on Big E are Avoiding Landy do to RP crowd. (not that we hate it) Many of us just have bad experience on Landy or did not like RP crowd in are groups.
Thats not a "everybody" statement, But most of people I know will be avoiding Landy as a choice.

I don't mind RP.. but Landy's RP is different then my RP, and they got on my nerves on so many visit to all events.

Are Oceanic is abit different then Landy's.
Are Server is 99.9% English. People from Korea, Indo, Aussie, Kiwi, Japan, Euro, NA, Canada etc are all here. Oceanic is abit of odd word to use, and Vy(staff) seems to thing it requires a mutli use of languages.
For us, Elen Server is just a place of Every person in world, being able to play with every person in world and we all speak English. (Some of us just keeping up on it)
For me, When I switch Shifts, there is always someone on here.

I've been on Gladden (3rd in population) and it was dead my 5 visits now for my time zone.
Landy... *shudders* RP Crowd has me avoiding this one.

I'm Hoping Elen stays, We got plenty of lifetime and VIP's all over, and super friendly. Honestly.. we are all ready for Big E... to well, turn back into Big E.

Which sucks, as I lurk more servers, and Servers I LIKE, are all on chopping block... -_-'

All Server I hate, dislike, crowd who argue more then 10 5 year olds with 1 toy and timezones they contour to. are all safe or likely safe. -_-'

Elendilmir is on the chopping block

My Kin is trying to decide between Gladden and Landroval. I am leaning toward Gladden.

Gladden is active 24/7 as they have some Oceanic Kins, they are not an RP server, which is a plus to me and there are several other Kins on E that are heading that way. I have a level 70 LM over there already. The people are friendly and AH prices are lower than E.

I'm off to Gladden. Landroval is too rp focused for me, Brandywine is too overpopulated, I don't know anything about the other 2 servers. The people on Gladden seem to be alot like the people on Elendilmir. My kinship is also moving to Gladden. Many of my friends are moving to Gladden. I'm looking forward to the kind people of Gladden. I hope more oceanic people decide to come over and make it the new unofficial oceanic server. If we all choose one then we'll all become satisfied.

Personally leaning towards Gladden myself as all my names are available there, just need to find a new neighborhood for my personal house and storage kin house, my kin on Meneldor mentioned they are thinking of either Ark or Landroval

BW is out for obvious reason, not allowed to transfers there, names have been stolen, when I tried to get into monster play everything was grayed out at 3pm est saying there was to many people in monster play to create a new character, can't imagine what EST peak is like

personally I'm leaning against Arkenstone because it would feel to me like a lateral move coming from Meneldor which is basically Arkenstone accept cut.

Landy could be a good fit even though some of my names and all my houses where taken, but then again I'm not sure what to make of these things we hear about the RP community and how strict they are.

Anyway hope to see some of you all wherever I end up :/

So what of the PvMP and other non-RP stuff on Landy? (Battles raging in the 'Moors/Osgiliath, etc).

You're gonna have a hard sell if all you're putting forth is RP fluff towards us on E, as that's what a majority see Landy as - nothing but RPers.
