I'll start with a convoluted answer that is bound to be wrong, but, hey, ya gotta start somewhere.

The first high king of the Noldor was Fingolfin.
If we consider "reach" to mean "area of influence or command" then the High King's Reach would be Mithrim.

If we consider "fore" and "aft" as north and south, then it follows (sort of) that right and left would be east and west.
With that in mind, The Greenway would be the way that runs north and south, therefore, The Great East Road would be the way that runs east and west.
So, it would be the right-left way.
