I am doing the same thing on two accounts. What I'm doing is on one toon for each acct. and world, I'm collecting all coin, etc. As that world is open for transfer I'm transferring that toon and storage, etc. If the toon isn't going to stay give everything to a toon that is staying then delete that toon from the new world. So far it has worked great for me. I don't plan on leave anything behind.

This might possibly be in the realm of possibilities, but Turbine will neither confirm or deny this as they maybe still figuring out the plausibility of such a scenario.

I am seeing this question a lot, so I want to address it. The main reason we are doing a slow roll out, is that the transfer service is limited in the number of requests it can handle at once. This is why the wait time is longer in the first 24 hours we open a new server for transfer than a couple days later. If we opened all servers at once, the service would get bogged down and wait times, during which your account is locked, would become unreasonable as everyone flooded the service. Thus we are opening one at a time, letting the wait times settle, monitoring the destination servers to make sure none are being over loaded and then moving on to the next. This method provides the smallest disruption to play time. Once the main rush of consolidation is complete, there should be no issues with normal transfer times as they are not as high demand.

We understand it is hard to wait. We are all eager to have the transfers completed and be on the brand new hardware, but patience in this case will result in a better overall experience for everyone. We are working hard to get it complete as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued patience,

Come on people. I think with everything that is going on we can cut her some slack on spelling. Vyvyanne, you can spell Windfola any way you want when the time comes to open transfers.
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is my personal opinion.

Just out of curiosity: does the ablility to transfer off of a server that had already had the chance to transfer stay when a different server gets the chance a week later?
Or do those people that didn't get around to transferring their chacaters then have to wait until all servers were open for transfers once? Basically, are people still able to transfer off of their server once a different one got the chance to do so?

When a closing world gets opened for transfers, they remain open for transfers from that point indefinitely.

Nope! I don't believe Vyvyanne should get any slack at all. I mean what would JRR Tolkien do? I am sure he would have sent a letter with the correction and then there would be a new publishing of the books with the correction. Don't you think so? I do!

Just to clarify a few things for when Windfola transfers open up soon - housing storage is associated with the Account items? - so I have to transfer the house owner and account items to get back my current level of housing?

If I leave alts on Windfola for a month or two, I can do a second transfer of account items when they leave? Thanks.

The answer is yes to both questions.

As for those getting errors when attempting to transfer, please open a CS ticket. We do have a small failure rate (1-3%) but CS should be able to help with those falling into that category.

We all understand lag and wait times perfectly. What we do not understand is sub-par customer service given out with a whine. No one cares if you have a cold and no one cares about the Columbus Day holiday.

Please get another job if you cannot handle the pressure. People are sick? What you don't wash your hands? Really? And Columbus Day isn't a major US holiday. It is the holiday the left HATES. It should be easy to show up for work on that day in Boston, dontcha think?

When you own a business you work when you need to work or you find a different job. Methinks you need a different line of work, Vivvy. Maybe Customer Service at Macy's in Boston is hiring new people to wrap presents for the Christmas season. You should apply. However, I doubt they would hire you given your penchant for whining. But go ahead, you should give it a go!

I did not see any whining in her post. Just some facts.

People take leave when sick: fact. Better than getting more people sick so that everyone is out. There are more illnesses out there than simple colds. Even hand washing isn't fool-proof. Also she did not say she was sick, just some people. Maybe she was; maybe she wasn't. Not our business to know who. If a few are out, it means they have a few less to handle things and that things will be slower.

Specific people need to be around to dispense certain information: fact. I'd rather not have misinformation flung about because they could not bother to check in with the right people.

There is a U.S. holiday on Monday: fact. Pretty sure she did not say it was major, just that some people have it off. Politics has nothing to do with it and doesn't belong in this thread.

Oh my god, you poor baby, did you spilled milk in your diapers and toys? So por of you, I hope the milk wasn't that hot so it wouldn't hurt you baby so much.

Really, I think this is the only way people like you can understand, seeing all the BS you posted, I doubt you would understand a polite and serious conversation, so I tried to translate it to your language: troll and angry baby language. Now that you released your stress over the spilled milk, you can call your mom to clean you and your toys and get a new milk.

You sir (and I say that only because I am about to insult you) are a hate mongering troll and have no place here. Your insults were not called for nor are they wanted, Viv is doing the best she can...they all are during this challenging endeavor, it is no small feet they are attempting and so far have been doing a top notch job of it. So why don't you just head back under your bridge and leave posting to those that have something constructive to say. Different points of view & constructive critiques are always welcome but you hate mongering trolls are NOT!

If there is anyone here that is whining, it is you. My god what a bunch of complete bull you just posted. Did you sign some sort of service level agreement with Turbine that we aren't aware of that entitles you to a certain level of response? People get sick. People take vacation days. There are public holidays. Turbine employees have lives, just like you and me. And absolutely 0 people got hurt by posting the announcement for the next set of servers on Thursday instead of on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Oh no wait, I take that back. It wasn't 0 people that got hurt by that. There was 1 little baby whiner who felt the need to complain about it in a rather immature way. Yeah. That's you. Stop being a crybaby about customer service. Unless you signed a service level agreement with them that entitles you to a certain level of support, quit whining.

Don't like the support you are getting? Maybe World of Warcraft is better for you. I hear they have sad Panda's too.....

Communication has vastly improved over the last year. Can things be improved even still? I'm sure. But complaining like you do above here because the next server announcement came a day later than expected, is completely class-less.

A clarification needs to made - When you own your own business you work when you need to work or you find a different job - bills are going to go unpaid, or you're going to go hungry if you don't. I have friends and family who do this - I don't envy them.

However, Turbine staff, like me, are paid employees, and therefore get to have sick leave and paid national holidays. I make use of this arrangement, so I certainly wouldn't expect Turbine staff to give these up - that would be hypocritical.

I can only guess that you own your own business, somehow have signed away your worker rights, or don't work. If you're a normal paid worker, do you give up your sick leave / national holidays?

If I were to have another guess, I'd say many of the Turbine staff have been out sick because some carried on going to work while sick - this leads to the sickness being spread and knocking most other staff out (happened at my work this year). By the way, most sickness passed on is airborne (washing hands isn't going to help here) - airconditioning is the worst for spreading the pathogens.

I don't always agree with certain game directions, but I don't doubt the dedication of the remaining Turbine staff, making use of what resources they have available (which is less than they had before).

That is the key element "the remaining Turbine staff".
Turbine has downsized and are not even close to the size they had to Moria days.

That and the juggeling of expansions, server mergers and bugfixes has them completely out of tilt. This is the main problem - too many things at once. Step by step and properly is the way that should be done.
The LotRO community has stated soooo many times - please for once - listen to them - keep the next expansion in the bag, move it back 6 months or even a year - BUT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE ALL FIX WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. The list is sheer endless on what needs to properly fixed!

Get one thing done, properly - ie. server merges. Once that is over focus everything on the next BUG FIXES - and then take the next step. But either we are falling on deff ears or WB has them peddling forwards at a pace that is just stupid.

Anyone who has glanced at the "unofficial" server login numbers knows that the player population spikes after new content is released, then gradually tapers off. Turbine can't afford to go too long without releasing new content. Since Turbine isn't a government entity, it has to make a profit, or it will cease to exist. They have to keep up a steady pace of new content releases, while using the leftover development resources to address the things that most urgently need fixing. And the most urgent things are the ones that have the most potential to affect the bottom line. Although it can be a pretty nebulous thing to evaluate which features will affect player "quality of life" enough to make them want to quit, or to subscribe. Then to add to the complexity, Turbine staff is shared between several different games, so a decision has to be made about priorities among different projects for different games.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there is probably not a lot of overlap between the creative staff and engineering staff. So having the creative staff focused on churning out new content doesn't really affect the availability of engineering staff for fixing problems. The server merging project has undoubtedly consumed a lot of engineering man-hours that could've otherwise been allocated to fixing bugs or implementing new features. But this is a case where Turbine has calculated that the "quality of life" benefit to the players makes the investment worthwhile; i.e. profitable.

Lets not go off topic too much. This topic is to discuss world transfers..... If you want to discuss the quality of service by Turbine, and how you think expansions, bug fixes, patches, and changes should work, or what should have the higher priority, I believe there are a few topics in existence for that, or kindly create a new topic for it.

Back to discussing world transfers and transfer related issues here.

    Frelorn - question about tuesday

    Frelorn, a question about Tuesday's server patching/maintenance.

Nimrodel is scheduled to transfer that same day. Will Nimrodel's transfer be available immediately when the servers come back up at the estimated 3PM EST Server time, or will that be postponed to the next morning?
