idea to scale creeps toward freeps

Here's an idea which would/could potentially further balance the moors. I made a thread in player suggestions as well to see what ppl though of it over all. Anyways could it be possible to attach to all these "cosmetic weapons" on creepside with various Buffs and how difficult would that be? For example just as in freepside, a goblin hatchet would be +5% damage. And then your off hand , main hand whatever has some sword which applies +10%chance of -2000 b/p/e. Just ideas I'm throwing out there. We realize adding morale isn't the answer, that's been said time and time again. This is an easy concept to just attach to these weapons which idk how many ppl have bought, but I think this would give reason to really buy them and utilize them. I feel like with the players out there who know the real in depth of the numbers, I'm sure you could come up with different ideas. Bleeds, slows, +tactical mastery for 10 seconds, extra damage to men or hobbits. There could be endless ides that would make every player have more options to customize their toon. Some may add just damage, some ppl may add debuffs. I think it could work.

I came into this expecting something long winded and convoluted like many have posted before but this idea is interesting in it's simplicity. Of course we'd need items to slot for wargs and spiders to be added as well.

Haha yeah I know. Turbine doesn't have an abundant amount of time for pvp so the fix has gotta be quick and easy. This stamping process would do just that. And just slap on some form of buff or debuffs. If they have time add more weapons or just use the same cosmetics and just place a different buff onto another. Pvp players I feel aren't picky. Like for wargs, just add different paws and teeth. Teeth can be more dps and bleed related. Paws can be for debuffs like -b/p/e or armour. Make them look different otherwise for now just concentrate on the concept. As for spiders maybe use different color webbing relating to the buff or debuff.

That's a very interesting idea! It could give some variation to creep builds. That's one of the things that make freepside so much fun is you can build and gear your toon so many different ways.

By the way, fun 1v1s last night as always....../swordsalute

Casinoari absolutly with the 1v1. Was definatly fun although numerous times you and I were ganked so I'm sorry for that haha. But yes the idea of customized toons is awesome. Where we can choose a much more in depth trait system depending if this idea was utilized and to its full potential by making an abundance of weapons for each class and having multiple different types of buffs and debuffs.

Going to try and spark some life back into this thread since talk about how to balance the moors is a hot topic again. I believe utilizing the cosmetic weapons in such a way would lay the ground work for a system to be built to get the moors stabilized. To further elaborate on this concept from my pervious post, weavers: there could be different webs which apply different debuffs. A web would apply a -Inc healing. Another would apply a fire mitigation or something which would go hand in hand with reavers useless burning blades and make it an option again. Another option is different spit. One would be power draining. You could have a +attack speed attached to one. Obviously you choose what you want and how to gear. Tanky, dps, cc? Warleader. Different shields. +Armour for himself. Another shield could apply a -seconds to the cooldown on their incombat rez. This would be beneficial bc of the abundance of rezes on freepside. Warg. Different calws. Damage increase. Applies a +physical or tactical mitigation boost with a critical hit or something for 8 seconds with a cooldown. Bottom line of what I'm getting at is that I believe if it's possible to add a buff or debuff to those cosmetic weapons the moors could be balanced much more. Or even more basic, apply a handful of non complicated buffs.. %dam increase. -%damage.. Inc healing. +Armour or b/p/e. + finesse. + critical damage or chance or defense.. add more mits.. why do it? it would be easy to apply. turbine makes money off of the slots and the cosmetic weapons that players will buy (incentive for them to make this system over a creepside trait rework) The more variations of weapons/Buffs debuffs the more money made. no work needs to be applied to freepside. All the scaling is done from creepside. Some interest was expressed, what other ideas are out there that would reel in the gap between the classes.

Perhaps the use of cosmetic weapons could accomplish what you're looking for if Turbine added a new section for such items to the 'Equipped Traits' setup panel. If they were to add a new section like this, you could slot those weapons there. Doing so would add the cosmetic weapon's appearance to your character, just like slotting a skin in the 'Appearance' section does now. The actual buff or 'effect' of the weapon could perhaps be treated like a weapon-specific corruption???

It would be nice to see creeps get more build options!

so many great ideas ! However the workable one for Turbine is the standard progression of +5% morale and damage boost.

i think a little attention to our base stats like Finesse, Resistance and whatnot would be dev time better spent and possibly more inline with what they could actually do.

remember creeps are instance based toons that are a legacy holdover from the very early days of the game . Turbines probably not even sure how they work anymore.

I did a lengthy peice 2-3 years ago on Creep weapons, from how they could be acquired, how they could work in detail, and how they could be heavily customized by each and every player - they were in effect legendary weapons for creeps. But I never posted and completely ditched the idea, as it seemed to be sadly just wishful thinking. Turbine rarely if ever take on players suggestions, especially when it comes to pvp. It would probably be too difficult/expensive to implement anyway.

For what's its worth, as an example, this was a mock-up image of a Blackarrow Bow and what it would look like.

Awesome bow. But I'd say the work involved in that would be very large and tI'm consuming. Subadar, i would agree with you that a simple boost to the base stats would be the absolute quickest way to balance each class back in line with freeps. Unfortunately wouldn't add an exciting aspect as buffed cosmetic weapons or legendary ones. But balance is by far the more important thing needed right now.
