The Rise of the Yellow Minstrel

In the past couple of months I hardly switched into blue or red at all. Rally is now available across the board. I have my imbued book and sword with anthem and CoC cooldowns fully maxed. I feel with all my buffs up all the time I have nearly the DPS of red line. I know theoretically that i don't have the heals of the blue line but everyone seems over-healed, all the time. Last night I ran my box run PUG in yellow with 2 red minis, 2 hunters and an LM. Everybody's green bar stayed pinned to the roof. I haven't run the new raid in T2 but so far but I've not yet hit that moment after a wipe where one switches to blue. I haven't earned all my trait points but I still have close to 80 to spread out into blue and red and recover some favored abilities. What content am i missing that will send me scurrying back for Ioreth and Triumphant Spirit?

Well if you want you can pick up Triumphant Spirit for yellow line. Just leave all useless traits on yellow after exposing weakness. Most of yellow line traits are totally useless so can go deep into both red and blue.
Old classic instances havent required any blue minstrel ever since HD revamp so rise of yellow been since HD expansion. Rally itself hardly made yellow any more viable, if more than one wipes you cant really rez more anyway since CD takes half of a week to finish off. I would say releasing of mastery cap did it more impressive since now you dont have to use non imbued book anymore.

You will need blue line for most T2C "new" instances, maybe even t1 in some cases especially if you have no cappie LM in the fellow.

We use a yellow mini on bosses 1, 3 and 5 in the new raid T2C. A standard DPS group (4 Runekeepers, Cappy, and Yellow Mini) can sustain itself through the Captain Blue Mark. The blue mini in the tank group can cross heals to the yellow mini and Cappy.

Quickest mumak clear I ever did was exactly that, with -1 RK and +1 Warden: Warden, yellow minnie, red cappy, 3 RKs. Boom. Crispy fried mumak.

Also, it's easy to build a "green" healing build with Triumphant Spirit in yellow. I have that.
105s: Aedfrith (HN), Aldnoth (CP), Brai (RK), Hrolfdan (MN), Aeldfryd (WD), Morriarty (CH), Aednoth (LM), Mishhar (BR), Hraldan (GR), Rummbold (BG). Tinies - Rumbelina (MN), Aenghus (CP)
Rangers of Eriador (officer), ex-Snowbourn now Laurelin - A Noob for All Seasons

Good suggestion, I re-speced!. It used to seem so far up on the blue tree but with all the points at cap it's accessible.

And yeah most of what's best on yellow is low on the tree. It's all about having the 3 anthems up for me.

I love how RK stacking is "standard" now.

Yellow mini is a lot of fun to play now.
