Unfortunately, my play time nowadays is greatly reduced and the prospect of raiding is not a viable one, so I've been trying to find out online the story of what actually happens in the Abyss of Mordath - I know it's meant to resolve the dwarf plot, and I've seen from videos that there's a dragon involved, but what about Thelaron (the elf from the high elf intro that keeps being mentioned), and what actually happens to Vaskmun and co? I'd greatly appreciate if anyone could post the story here of what goes on in the raid
While I don't recall all names, I will give an idea.
You start the raid with seeing the 2 High Elf NPC's that you saw in Dor Amarth by the statue of Sauron giving you the rundown (the Firehorns and their King went into Mordath to reclaim dwarf ring). The Order of the Eye follows them to get revenge.
First boss has you defeating the 2 leaders of the Order of the Eye, which I believe weakens their hold significantly. Next you come across Sagrog (again, don't mind my spelling), who is called the Bitter Warden, and he guards the entrance to going into the jails further down. You learn that he was an Elf from Gil-Galad's army who was somehow turned by Sauron, and forced to guard for him. Once you beat him, he laments on his choices, and lets you pass.
(Spoilers for next part)
Final boss has you finally catch up to King Vaskmun, who confronts a wyrm named Fingar the Greedy, and this wyrm has possession of the Dwarf ring the king wants. Foolishly, the King causes his own death and the rest of his followers from the wyrm. You then fight the wyrm and defeat him (in the process learning he was at the battle that broke Thangorodrim by Ancalagon's death).
Last point I'll make, is there are lost lore pages throughout the raid. They tell the story of Mordor's goal of collecting all the Dwarf Rings after the battle of the Last Alliance. We learn 2 Dwarf Kingdom's further east are defeated and their rings are claimed. 2 of the other rings are in the possession of 2 drakes that have sacked other dwarf kingdoms. A Gurthyul named the Weeping Warrior captures them and imprisons them in Mordath. We also learn that apparently the Dwarf rings can't be destroyed by dragon fire, so these drakes have simply swallowed them. Then the Witch-King sends the Weeping Warrior to the Ered Luin where Fingar is residing with 2 of the other dwarf rings (they don't go after Durin's Ring yet). The Weeping Warrior lures Fingar out with the other rings, and brings him all the way back to Mordor to be imprisoned. So at this point Sauron has 2 drakes and 1 wyrm in the prisons of Mordath, and Sauron has technically reclaimed 6 of the 7 rings. Once he is defeated, the 2 drakes escape, but Fingar remains.
