Exclamation Bright, a movie inspired in Tolkiens universe but happening in 2017

Bright is set in what feels like modern Los Angeles, except that Orcs live among us. So do elves and fairies, and none of them showed up recently. They’ve been part of the Earth forever. Basically, if J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth evolved into 2017... That is how the website describe it. More details explained here: https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-orc-cop-...the-1821465743 .

Yeah, I just watched it on Netflix and thought, "Hey! Someone's had this mad idea about Elves, Orcs and Men from Tolkien living in the modern world." Was ok, I guess. Basically just a mismatched cop partners movie with some magic thrown in and an ending that could lead to a spin-off if enough people liked it.

Actually, it's a bit like someone thought, "Let's add Tolkien to Alien Nation."

Will Smith just does his "I, Robot" thing again pretty much.

The reviews I have read absolutely hammer it as lazy and racist; with a poor script and generally terrible acting.

That could easily and accurately describe some of the folks here on the forums, as well as the American Goverment.

Sadly true. Although I wouldnt say Trump is a terrible actor; most Fox News fans still dont realise he is an orange lizard, and not actually human.

Oh it wasn't a slight against Trump. I'm sorry if you confused it as such.
