DPS Mini

Hi guys

I am not a healer though I love the dps mini. I don't heal as I am not fast enough. Im a little on the old side. Why do I have to build my mini the way other people want me to play my char.

I don't get it. I always state that Im not dps. I've been kicked from groups and received a fair amount of verbal abuse for playing my character the way I want to.

Sometimes I wish I could play a healer but Im not just fast enough.

What else can I do so I can play the mini the way I want.

I no longer heal on my mini. But I know that some people who lead groups expect minis to heal and guards to tank. You aren't going to change the minds of people who have that expectation. So you have a few options:

If you like to play in groups and like dps role, then I suggest you make a hunter. They are faster than a red line mini to level and a lot of fun to play. I used to use a mini to farm lp, now I use a blue line hunter because it's faster.

If you really, really want to do groups with your dps mini and don't want people giving you grief, then find some people who are compatible with your play style. Perhaps in a casual, socially oriented kin where people are more interested in having fun and good relationships.

And the last option is to forget grouping and enjoy solo play with your red mini. I personally like the peace and simplicity of solo play so that's the way I roll.

If you join others groups you can expect to do the role they request you to do.... Or start your own groups...

Not a ppl problem. If we speak about t2c contents, no other class can heals like mini and mini cant dps like other top dps classes. Atm red mini is pretty good in pvmp so i suggest you to join Moors if you wanna really enjoy your dps line.

Problem is if you are doing harder content, especially mordor, mini dps is pretty awful. You are good aoe burst for trash but for single target boss fights minis are bottom of the barrel dps compared to other classes

Yup. Red captain with bleed legs does pretty good single-target DPS (for a non-DPS class).

I said bottom of the barrel not dead last. So for sustained dps fights yes minis are down there with those 3 classes

You can get away with being a Yellow/Red mini in some larger groups but realistically you will not & should not get a spot as a Red mini in a raid. I have DPSd the current 3 man and damage compared to a Hunter or RK is severely lacking.

Minstrels are the best healers in the game. If you are running T1 content, you can just trait blue line and use Bolster Courage over and over again and do nothing else except refresh your anthems, and you will be fine. There is no need to be "fast."

No offense but if you´re to slow to heal, you´re to slow for doing good dps. There are no big differences. Both are just easy rotations, with some bigger skills on proc or need between them.

And for the dpsing role it´s the same as for red guards why should a group waste one spot with someone which does half or even less of the dps as a class which is specialized for that.

The DPS mini doesn't exist at raid level, unfortunately. To be viable in healing or tanking or dpsing you need to be competitive with other viable options. Sadly, Minstrel isn't. In other forms of the game, Warrior-Skald lets you get through the content. However, even something as trivial as CoS T2 is painful with a mini DPSing, and I wouldn't want to do the challenge with a mini dps. That isn't your fault, it is the devs who created the content and "balanced" the classes.

DPSing is a lot more speed sensitive, if you are slow to push the buttons (or especially if you use the mouse to click buttons), then your DPS will sag off a lot more than your healing will.

Why can't the Guardian be DPSing in red spec as well while the mobs ignore him and kill you? You can do whatever you want in whatever spec you desire and play however you want... when you are on your own.

When you are in a group, there is the expectation that people will undertake roles that will allow the group to complete content in an efficient manner. Pre mordor, it was fairly easy to do stuff as a red mini, the content was easy, nobody really cared.

If you are a Guardian that means you put away the beastly 2h weapon and you tank, if you are a mini then more than likely you will be expected to heal. Otherwise, they would likely want a Hunter or some other class that does a lot more DPS and makes their lives a lot easier. Again, it is not your fault, the devs wanted to make the content harder in Mordor and the consequence is that harder content excludes weaker character/roles. It isn't that it can't be done, just that people don't want to make their lives harder.

You have every right to play your character the way you want to play, everyone else has the right not to accept that.

I always play my Loremaster as blue spec solo but I change to yellow for group content. I am not a huge fan of yellow LM spec and I don't do much of it. But, someone else is not obliged to have to deal with my preferences.

You do not need to be specifically fast to heal, you just need to make sure you are proactive and not reactive. That means you put Anthem of War on your fellowship and give yourself Anthem of the Third Age and once the tank goes you start healing him. You make sure you are within 20m of the tank so he also gets hit by Bolster Our Courage and the DPS should be well aware that they need to be within 20m of you to get healed. Then you just hit the Bolsters. You will still need to learn how to use the other abilities to become a better healer, but you can get by with a minimalist approach.

What else can I do so I can play the mini the way I want.

Find a kin or a group of people that are willing to accept that you want to play your mini red, irrespecitve what class or role you want to play, it comes down to contributing in a group environment.

When you solo you can play however you like.

I sit it but in t2 that I do I do not take mini dps not almost mini go rk and lm, cpt buglar champion but always a wizard who is the best dps that exists My advice for the mini dps that demands a line dps pve similar from that of the rk the mini with fire dps would be like well dps

I'd just like to add that on my mini a few nights ago we did T2C boss 1 and 2 in the abyss raid with my mini in full red :P
