Bullroarer Update 22 (#2) - Preview and Release Notes

Bullroarer has been updated to build 2202.0059.6115.1595

We continue to welcome your feedback on Eryn Lasgalen, the Dale-lands, and Erebor.

    Known Issues:
    • New music in Northern Mirkwood/Daleland may be too loud in this build

    New this build:

    • PREVIEW ONLY: Full-size maps have been added for Eryn Lasgalen, Dale-lands, and Felegoth
    • PREVIEW ONLY: Interior maps have been added to Lake-town and Dale
    • PREVIEW ONLY: More interior spaces have been added to Dale
    • PREVIEW ONLY: Town services added to Eryn Lasgalen plus further polish work
    • PREVIEW ONLY: Players can now experience the quests of Erebor, however, the final instance for this area is still unavailable
    • PREVIEW ONLY: Malledhrim Bronze Feathers have now been replaced with Token of the Lake and Rivers on quest rewards and barter vendors in the new regions
    • PREVIEW ONLY: We fixed an issue where Mac clients were filtering much more text in chat and names than it should, we updated various filtering rules, and we have adjusted over-aggressive filtering of legendary item names.
    • Virtue Tomes will no longer auto-consume if the result would push you over the current virtue cap of 20.
    • In the quest 'Patron of Commerce' in Dale, altered counts of types you have to interact with in the marketplaces. Unblocked objectives to visit different marketplaces.
    • Many typos throughout the game have been corrected
    • A Reflecting Pool can now be found in Felegoth, and it contains many of the instances from 'Strongholds of the North' for you to replay.
    • Further tweaks have been made to the various fiddles.
    • The minimum required level for several musical instruments has been reduced to increase access to the /music system:
Manuals of the clarinet, drums, flute, harp, and horn can now be used at level 10 (reduced from level 30)
Basic Bagpipe now has a minimum level of 15 (reduced from level 25)
Manual of the Theorbo can now be used at level 15 (reduced from level 30)
Moor Cowbell now has a minimum level of 20 (reduced from level 40)
Basic Pibgorn now has a minimum level of 25 (reduced from level 65)

Has there been any more avatar tweaks? I don't have much free time right now so I was hoping for some info about that so I know if I should spend the free time I have checking out avatars or something else

Oh this is very nice! When you are invited to another server for a lil one-time concert, having to level a character you won't be playing just to be able to play a few songs one time was very frustrating This will help a lot! Thank you!

I reckon its a pretty large build, Findun, due to some new sound files. I dont have exact size yet on the full build because its still loading through the last 655 sound dat files... Almost a gigabyte or so in new files thus far.

I take it no reaction to feedback about the trait swapping... deafening silence here.

Does Lotro even work on mobiles? Or do tablets these days have enough processing power to handle it?

I do not think I can look at anything ... but I think tomorrow morning I'll take a look ... I'm curious to see if they have modified something on the touches you have Avatar's hair and have added something else you have models of dwarfs .. (hopefully they have not ruined the work of the previous beta, for me it was fantastic)

Dwarves have had some work done to them this build. Some of the hairstyles and the beards. As of right now it seems some of the beards are too dark though and won't match with any of the hair.

Hobbits also got a new background that looks really nice.

would you be kind to let us see some photos for those who are not accessing the test server? I'm too curious.

i know it is not part of this builds concerning dale, lake town and mirkwood, but would be very nice to have a chat window which can be locked in position...hate when unintentionally i throw it half the screen. xD

Here ya go. On the last betas there were always various changes each week, so I'd expect dwarves to also have further changes and polishes, but this is what has been done for now.

    Thanks Kaeneth!

Looks like they've started tweaking hobbit avatars even if slightly.

Good to see dwarf beard shapes getting "fluffier" while retaining same overall familiar shapes.

    Map changes

I'm loving the new Rhovanion map. It looks so beautiful and detailed! Is there any chance we will see the other maps (Including the full Middle Earth map) Updated too, so it fits this new design? Would really love this to happen.

Best blueline hunter in the whole game who streams mostly LOTRO at https://www.twitch.tv/babamelvinschnabel

This new Rhovanion map is so amazing, I'd love to see the Eriador, Gondor and Mordor maps get the same treatment!

If none of the developers will even bother to log in and acknowledge and respond to some of the suggestions and issues raised and even attempt to write a dev diary prior a major release, then what are we supposed to do here? There used to be closed beta builds, there used to be some sort of rewards for testing stuff, there used to be LP (back then TP) in pre-purchase expansion packs... Now all we get is being ignored and more lag on live servers while BR is up. And updates to fiddles and maps for RPers to cry their hearts out from happiness. (Is the map good? Yes. Do we need to test it? Hell no!)
I stopped filing bugs because I need to fill in my race, OS, class and what not to bug a location for falling through stairs and rocks. Can just as well stop writing here from now on.

This looks like a DOWNGRADE if anything. Less detail? WHY?

The texture looks flatter than before, less shading, less color variation... less realistic.

Are we heading for minecraft-levels of texture?

Can I be honest? I do not like the background ... there is not completely bad... the background itself is nice ... but there are those 2 chairs .... that are a bit sad ... and behind the character does not There is Life ... not like the backgrounds of dwarfs, humans, and elves (the high elves do not touch them because they already have many details) ... the hobbits ... it does not seem to me a thing made with love .. not completely ... for me they should remove those chairs and put type ... I know ... a fence with some flowers and some Hobbits walking down the street ... even though ... it was not better to do the bottom behind in front of the Party Tree? and more iconic and more beautiful to see ... with all those decorations and the stage of events ... there ...HAaa Ok ok! I do not like it at all! for me, SSG must dare more that background and sad and does not reflect the spirit of the Hobbits, festive, cheerful and carefree. there is no life ... where are the Hobbits dancing? Where are the hobbits playing, playing well and joking and partying? there is nothing of all this ... it seems to me only an empty background with a hobbit house and a giant tree behind ... also the statue of MichelDelving was much better ... there .... I do not understand why the hobbits have given him a background like that ... there is the SSG ... dares more please.

That looks like Bag End to me, not just a house and a tree I haven't logged in on Bullroarer but I imagine if you turn the screen it might actually show the Party Tree below and a view of Hobbiton, but someone who's been on Bullroarer would have to confirm. I really like the updated backgrounds, I think they look great
