    Some (newish) QoL ideas!

I've been gathering ideas of late of things that could improve the quality of life for us players. Mostly just fun/convenient things but some of them I'd really love to see! I know RedPanda is listening for VIP ideas and maybe this list will have some pluckers that might work. Feel free to add your own. Many of these are certainly not my own - but great ideas I've heard just from chatting with others

    1. Housing items that are useable inside AND OUTSIDE! Ive noticed a few of these lately and love, love, love (did I mention LOVE!?) this idea. Seriously, I'd pay for these.

    2. A method of wallet conversion. Currently we have the purchasable wallet from the store which is an absolute godsend, but I noticed mine is full with hundreds of different tokens and things that I'm no longer using since I've far out-leveled those areas. Since they are bound to toon, and not removable they just sit in my wallet. Id love to see an option where we could maybe select a particular currency and exchange it for marks/meds.

    3. Warsteed dyes that are account bound. I have 9 toons, and I like many others adore cosmetics - including for my warsteed. Currently the store dye system is (I'll try to be nice here...) ridiculous. The cost for 4 measly dyes for ONE toon is absurd. As it is - I refuse to buy any dye at all, for any toon. Were they account-wide I would have purchased them all. Even if the cost remains the same. Or maybe instead of account-wide dyes make it so that 1 purchase gets you ALL the dyes, at an increased cost, for that toon only (so 1 for warsteed coat, then a separate for warsteed gear). Currently to get only 1 dye pack for horse and 1 for gear on all my toons would cost me a whopping 10,710 LP. FOR ONE PACK each! This does not include different horse coat appearances (roan, paint etc). Maybe Im way off base here but I think more people would buy them if they were more accessible

    4. Ability to remove trait tree points individually rather than wiping the whole tree and re-traiting. So many times I've found myself wanting to move that one, single trait point at the very bottom of my tree to a different skill...and have to completely wipe the slate and re-trait everything, to move that single point. Its sort of annoying, LOL.

    5. After this Anniversary fest I'd really love to see a swift horse added to the Shire Party tree from Michel Delving. My god with the quests as they are now, each of my alts will run to the party tree and back 3 times a day. Bree has one, why not the shire?

    6. Gold spammers are a thing, vermin that they are...they're still around. I know you guys are working hard on it We all know the only reason those pests are still here is because some players are foolish enough to actually buy from these slime-balls. I have (shockingly) met some new players that are as oblivious as a wave on the sea and had no idea that engaging with these scammers is bad. So...maybe there's a way to get the word out even more to NOT visit their sites etc? Maybe a huge broadcast message when a player logs in (that only they can see) but big and obvious on their screen, to remind them. To the rest of us, yea we'd see it when we log in too...but we'd just have to ignore it (Or maybe have a graphics option to turn it off). I considered maybe requesting a world broadcast message but then the majority of us players who aren't complete numpties have to continually see it and that may become annoying. Unfortunately most people don't bother reading the log-in screens etc - you almost need to slap em in the face with it. Maybe just a screen message when they first log in that day - and thats it? Im sure some techie person might have better ideas/insight...just an idea.

That's it for now. I'll probably edit as I think/see more things Feel free to add more!

I like your prose. Mind you, I never see the spammers from one year to the next, because I de-selected /world. Not that the majority of the /world chat is spamming (or I don't think so), but nearly all of it is mere chat, relevant to what the chatter is doing (maybe), but not to what I'm doing.

So...maybe there's a way to get the word out even more to NOT visit their sites etc? Maybe a huge broadcast message when a player logs in (that only they can see) but big and obvious on their screen, to remind them.
I hope you don't mean, *every* time a player logs in. There would be such an outcry from players who have more than one character and log them all in every day, if only to check their mail.

To the rest of us, yea we'd see it when we log in too...but we'd just have to ignore it
We'd ignore it to the extent of never noticing it at all.

(Or maybe have a graphics option to turn it off).
Then everybody would turn it off at once.

I have a slightly different idea, which *might* work.

Background: I made a new character this morning, on a server I don't ordinarily visit, just to check something out. The character was an Elf and started out in the pre-destruction Edhellon newbie instance. At first I thought I was seeing no messages on any of the channels, but then I saw one on /lff, one on /trade, and two on /world. Then I traveled to the general (but restricted) Thorin's Gate instance, and my screen was deluged with /world and other chat.

I think perhaps the channels are available inside the newbie instance, but only to messages from those who are also inside the instance. Of course, some of those inside the instance could be brand-new spammer characters, even though I didn't see any. I can remember seeing six low-level Lore-masters, all alike, emerging from Archet together, off to grab some gold and spew some spam. Over and over. Perhaps I was just lucky this morning.

I would suggest the don't-buy-from-gold-spammers message, filling the entire screen, appear on the following occasions:

    1. On leaving the initial newbie instance (Edhellon in the case of an Elf, Archet in the case of a Man, and so on). It should appear right after the cut-scene, before the character enters the next area.

    2. On gaining a new level, up to level 10. If the player has not absorbed the message by then, s/he never will.

This would avoid browbeating players who've had the opportunity to learn better.

Hehe thank you :P I like your idea! I knew someone would think of another option.

As far as being brow beaten - it would be no different than a loading screen. We see that every time we log, and no one seems to mind. Of course people will whinge, cause people always do. Turning it off in options would be fine, since that requires the (new player) to actually have read the message before finding it annoying to turn it off. Im sure 99% of the player base does NOT need to see these messages, we know. Its those dastardly few that really just...need to be brow beaten :P

Basic question: is there a message about this in the list of loading screen Tool Tips? If not, why?

    I don't think so.

Does anybody read the loading screen tooltips? I don't ... but then I've been playing a while. Is anyone new enough to the game to remember reading them?

    5. After this Anniversary fest I'd really love to see a swift horse added to the Shire Party tree from Michel Delving. My god with the quests as they are now, each of my alts will run to the party tree and back 3 times a day. Bree has one, why not the shire?
I ditto everything the witty Oddessia says, but in particular, these two items:

The Party Tree is such an important hub for some fests, we really need a festival horse to and from.

And warsteed dyes, amen! I bought one pack of dyes and one for hides on one character, to try them out. I haven't bought anymore because I don't feel the value is there. Accountwide would be really nice. Or ability to buy individual dyes rather than a pack would be nice.

Another idea I heard a player propose, and perhaps has posted elsewhere in the forums, is a new musician housing item. The idea is that you could have a single musician or a combo in your house playing the ambient music. It would build on the humanoid property guards we can have outside now.

And lest we forget, thanks to SSG for all of the QoL improvements we've already been given! We're just greedy for more!!

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN. Getting around in the Shire is very tiresome, especially after you have leveled out of the area and are using all your alts. I would add a few more thoughts on this as well.

    1) Combine the two maps you get from the Summer (I think it is the summer festival) and Fall Festival that both go to the Party Tree. They both appear to be the same thing, but can't be combined in our inventory.

    2) Can we also add a swift travel to the Shire Horse Race area?

    3) Can we add swift travel throughout all of the Shire via higher reputation (Respected, Honoured, and Celebrated) from Michel Delving? Slow traveling to Hobbiton so that you can then slow traveling to other places is tiresome.

    4) Can we also add the swift travel in Ered Luin for higher Reputation too (Respected, Honoured, and Celebrated)? Getting to Duillond and especially Gondamon are very long rides.

Love all the suggestions, but definitely agree with this one. I know for sure there's a swift horse to the Party Tree available during at least one of the events, but now that seasonal events are becoming more of a mainstay with encores happening all the time now, I think having one there during all of the Party Tree events would be fantastic.

Items like this excist in game. It's a great idea, and one I'd love to see implemented on many items. I also never understood the need to limit the slot sizes so much. So many items could go into any slots considering the size they actually are. Especially small and slim furnitures should be interchangable. I am sure many like me are always stuck with a bunch of slim boxes not filled. Making the books from resent areas interchangable was a good step, just needs to be completed for other small/slim items too. Also, Special furniture slots, should be Special+big, so it accepts the special furniture but can also be used as a normal big slot if one wishes.

As soon as they addd the Bree one, I wondered why ever not the Shire?? Again like so often before, new good ideas are implemented, but not carried out consistantly. As for swift travels at certain rep stages, this is something I wanted for 11 years in the Shire, and some other places.

    .
I'm pretty much with DJH on this one. I would hate seeing that every time I changed alts.

It must be kind of a two edged sword at times. Instant feedback to your works!

I am kind of tempted to see what my faceless clients would say when it isn't filtered down through layers of management. But on the other hand, when its not going so well or they don't like the decisions you made ..... then it would cut.

I love all your ideas. There are few of my:
    1. Allow Rune-keeper to hide his/her satchel like all class weapons, or make current satchels smaller (because they clip through hand)
    2. I would like to see vault keeper in Gondamon (if I am questing around and would like to add somethink into vault, only available is at Celondim - quite a long way).
    3. Please add swift travel from Gondamon to Thorin's Halls, I know there is from Celondim, but from Gondamon its still a long way
    4. I would seriously purchase Stone of tortoise and Universal toolkit for lets say 700 LP each, if there was account wide version (for all characters current and future)either for all or for VIP only
I hope I will see at least few of these

I think that if they make the elves stand straight, then that issue with the satchel clipping will get resolved.

I would be overjoyed to get cosmetic options for the satchel. My DPS bag is a head-sized sack. My healing one is a stylish tooled-leather rectangle with metal fittings.

Its good that I can dye them, but they are still quite big, especially for elves as they clip through hand. They should make them smaller, or make not satchel, but belt with few smaller bags (like RK multitool belt )

Dyeable RK bags, walking stick animations with staffs, I always pharm between city and tree/fairgrounds but that's me so the pony from MD to party tree (or all starter-city stables, just add another pony) is a good idea, plus when events are being held in that elf city some kind of swift travel to there would be nice for those non-pharmers.

Ehh.. You can dye rk bag.

I definitely sign this, especially for the war steed stuff.

I wanted a black horse with a white mane (and vice versa) on one of my chars. Black and white are not in the same set of colours for some stupid reason. It was only AFTER I'd bought two colour packs that I realised that they are not bound to account. I will not buy war steed dyes again (for tack OR horse). This not being account wide is really stupid.

You can? But if I want to change outfits I would need to re-dye the bag rather than have just one in the (full) wardrobe that is dyed like everything else I have (like in enough colors to make a rainbow cry).
What a bummer because my RK is my Scholar, not my Dye Mule (that's my LM).

"Stupid" and "reason" are normally mutually exclusive, in fact most 'stupid' things exist because of someone not taking the time to reason something through.
I do like your example, however. Most (if not all) things should be account-bound in case you change your mind or have better use for something on another toon or want to store stuff on a Mule.

So if you buy tires for one of your cars, cuz you need 4, you would want that price to grant you the ability to have the same tires, even if they didn't really fit, on all of your cars... assuming you have more than one car.

Yeah I kid. But you said you wanted black and white on one horse. Did you really want black and white on all the other horses for all the other toons you have, on all servers? Would you pay $60 for that feature, even if you only wanted that color combo on 2 horses? I'm sure that could be arranged but you might wanna be a bit more specific on your request and think about how much that would cost you. What is reasonable to you might not be reasonable to the seller. I know I know... They've already done the work so that doesnt cost them anything. Remember, though, they need to pay for things they are working on and they don't get any money until that is finished.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see account bound flavors of horse. We have account bound flavors of clothes in our wardrobe. We don't have that for our livestock. I just don't want to have to pay for more than I will ever use. And I have tons of alts.
    ...
Sig looked hideous so I sent it to its room. It can come back and

    Stacking Stuff

Would love to have same-level lootboxes stack!

And would love if scrolls of empowerment stacked to 100, rather than 10.

And about those RK satchels -- don't you carry your big old rocks in there?? That's why they're head-sized, for schlepping boulders around! (just joking, of course, please don't throw rocks at me...)
