    Bullroarer Update 23 Preview #2: Release Notes and Feedback Thread

    We have reopened Bullroarer for a new preview of Update 23! This preview will run until Thursday, August 23rd at Noon Eastern.

    Here are the main changes:


    • Tier 2 difficulty is now available for the Update 23 Instances. Give it a try and let us know how you find the challenge.
    • Gear from Lootboxes has been adjusted. The highest base level they can drop is now item level 370 Incomparable gear, with the chance to bump up to five item levels. If you do see a piece that is higher than this from a lootbox, it is a bug, and should be reported to us.
    • Crafted Potions have had their power increased.
    • Minor, Major, and Greater Potions of Morale and Power now restore 20/30/40% instead of 30/50/70% over a period of eight seconds. They now have a two minute cooldown.
    • Monster Vitality has been adjusted, with the intention of making monsters a bit more challenging in the mid-levels (by making them closer to their current Live server stats).
    • PREVIEW ONLY: Eldorudo in the Eyes & Guard Tavern now has packages offering a selection of gear available from Tier 1 and 2 difficulty Grey Mountains Instances. These pieces of gear range from base item level 375 to 380, and all have a chance to bump up to five item levels. The Tier 2 heavy package was accidentally omitted, and will be present in a future preview.
    • A "Destroy All" button has been added to the Pending Loot panel, with a confirmation dialog.

    If players are only going to be able to craft ONE iron-fold item per day, the critical success version needs to be incomparable.

    With this endgame being focusing on Instances & Crafting, the crafting part needs to hold up.

    Time to add it to the rest of the growing checklist

    [ ] Fervour, Focus, Wrath, Battle-Ready Class Potions
    [ ] Edhelarn Tokens that do not require back-tracing to Entwood
    [ ] Vit/Main stat food
    [ ] Appropriately scaled class accessories (Captain Carvings, Warden Hyms, RK Scrolls)
    [ ] Off-hand Weapons & Shield recipes for Weapon/Metal smiths.

    Finesse on will jewellery

    Please replace the useless evade stats on the will jewellery with finesse, light amours are no tanks.

    And here we have more loot-box shenanigans. Love how there is a "chance" to bump up five item levels for a piece of gear that you have a "chance" to get by opening a loot-box. More trolling of the player base--especially that last sentence. It's all about the $$ folks.

    Glad to see that the majority of feedback is being ignored (i.e. remove the loot-boxes, full stop).

    Is this Working as Intended? Otherwise, people are wasting their time on live servers farming ash for the update.

    The changes to crafted pots new & existing are welcome:
    The morale pots are about right, but the power pots seem a little bit broken

    As I understand it, these are from hobbit presents (can someone confirm?) and heroic lootboxes
    They are bind on acquire and toned down so the best one (40% restore over 8 seconds) is 5% heal per second for 8 seconds.
    This makes them more palatable, but with some players rocking 300k morale pools on Bullroarer that's up to 120k heal over 8 seconds.
    Still could do with some more toning down in my opinion. especially if you can use them in addition to the crafted pots.

    Crafting in General - Attention to Detail

    Crafting could use more love (as someone mentioned above) and someone really needs to go over all Ironfold recipes and just do a quick logic/consistency check

    I suspect this is due to changes in mastery, but Battle Lore Scrolls (existing & new tier) have been reduced in value. I'm guessing this is unintentional.


    Another thing I spotted was that Burglar signals currently do not have crit versions.

    I just wanna point out first before i give any feedback that me and my 2 other friends, did the 6man on t2 with 3 people, and with no healer, if thats how you plan on balance the instances, then i think you should reconsider what you are about to do.


    Thikil gundu (6man T2):

    First boss
    Trash mobs - no mechanics, no damage, low hp on mobs
    First boss - no damage, there is currently 1 mechanic which is bugged, you are supposed to kill the fire grims near boss to remove the -% inc aura (assuming thats how it works) but nothing happens when you do, tried every other combination and ways, does nothing. So we assumed it's bugged, again, no other mechanics, no damage, low hp on mobs
    Second boss - no mechanics, no damage, low hp on mobs
    Third boss - no mechanics, no damage, low hp on mobs
    Last boss - no mechanics, no damage, low hp on mobs


    Caverns of Thrumfall (3man T2):
    Trash mobs - no mechanics, no damage, low hp on mobs
    First boss - no mechanics, no damage, low hp on mobs
    Second boss - no mechancis, no damage, low hp on mobs.
    Last boss - If you fail to use the pillar once to kill the boss, he will become bugged and you will not be able to kill him, you also won't be able to use the pillar again even if you reset, to kill the mobs, so you are forced to restart the instance. again, no mechanics, no damage, low hp on mobs.

    Actually, with the changes to Mastery maxes they should also provide a free one-time Essence removal per each piece existing when U23 drops.

    They have pulled the same type of stuff in the past with older updates when they converted Seals to Medallions.
    It is logical, in view of the times in which we live. But to be logical is not to be right, and nothing on God's earth could ever make it right!

    Since I do not have access to BR right now I was curious if the mentioned crafting instances are in this build? I believe there would be 3 normal instances AND 3 crafting instances and I read almost nothing about them on this forum. Thanks.

    Since when does a character need to add almost 200k power? I mean, I LOVE the idea of being at 100% power whenever I use a pot but isn't this a bit too much? Does nobody check these numbers?

    Also, where were these power pots when hunters sucked up all of the power in the universe because of Barrage? Nowadays power pots are even less important.

    You looted 83 silver pieces and 79 copper coins.

    Tier 2 solo of the Caverns. Glad I wasted locks on it.... also the last boss doesnt work as elze said.

    I want to second everything here. And honestly, please just remove the daily cooldown on crafting. It serves no real good purpose. We got on for years without daily cooldowns on crafted gear (save for things like guild rep tokens and the like).

    Agree with this as well. Light Armor classes need tons of finesse. They do not need evade.

    Thikil-Gundu: All bosses killed with 1 mini (dps), 1 hunter (dps), and 1 guard. Heals and a tank are not required.

    Boss 1: The boss is currently bugged and the Grims spawned by the forge levers do not take off his -95% Incoming Damage buff, therefore any group intending to do this now will have to DPS him down from 2.4m to 0 doing only 5% damage.

    Boss 2: The bosses do not do anything. It does not matter what order you kill the small dwarfs in, nor does it matter if you simply ignore them and try to kill Fror, all they do is damage (if you can call <1k TPS damage).

    Boss 3: The Dragon does not do anything, either. It took 30 seconds to kill it with a single DPS.

    Boss 4: Karazgar, shockingly, does nothing.

    Caverns: 1 Hunter, 1 mini, 1 guard

    The trash in this is more difficult than the bosses, but only because the trash pulls are so long that its difficult to muster the resolve to keep going. The Worm and smaller Dragon bosses do nothing so I won't waste time typing about them.

    Etterfang Foulmaw: The Dragon is currently bugged on T2 and the Pillars do not activate to take down his shield. This is the case on the solo and 3man versions of the fight. Interestingly, Etterfang actually does enough damage that you will probably need a healer. Revealing mark is enough to do it if you want to speed the instance up and just take Warden/Hunter/Captain or some combination of 2x DPS/1x Support. I'd suggest Warden(Champ)/Hunter/Loremaster to make it go the fastest.

    Those instances are joke.
    I understand some players are incapable of learning the game, but don't design content like this.
    Thikil-Gundu (6-man) can be 3-manned without even a healer.

    I think there is a bug with the loot on the new instances, nothing comes out of chest except silver and copper coins.
    But maybe the game instinctively knows that I soloed these empty instances, so it has denied me any valuable loot. :D

    But seriously, I found these instances to be pretty much devoid of mechanics. It was more like a very elaborate quest dialogue and I felt like I was grinding low level slayer deeds.

    Some general creepside feedback.

    None of the consumables have scaled to 120 yet.
    Most notably the Wound/Fear/Disease/Poison pots. Leaving creeps unable to remove any of those conditions. Also the fear pot's been stuck at level 100 for quite a while now...



    As far as ''balance'' goes. Can't say much yet, haven't fought many other players so far.
    What did strike me after looking at the base stats. Base mitigations seem to be really really low. We're talking about 3-8% base mitigations low.
    Quick and dirty fix would probably be increasing base armour values or base mitigation values.
    Another solution could be merging tactical and physical mitigation corruptions into one, leaving some more room for build diversity.

    Also some traits and skills haven't aged very well with the level cap increase to 120. (This was already the case at 115 though.)
    Right now Quick Strikes on Reaver is adding a whopping 211 finesse (or <0,1%). Same goes for Deadly Aim on Blackarrow. On live this is currently 569, which is still fairly negligible.
    Reaver's Glory in Victory skill still ''gives you a burst of healing'' for 2-3k morale every 4 seconds for 20 seconds. Compared to our 300k-450k morale pool....
    There's many more but those will be for another time, I'm trying to keep this short. Those just stood out to me as I mainly play Reaver.

    Solo version is to complete a series of quests at the end of the quest-line, which are required to unlock the regular dailies/crafting dungeons.

    It would make sense if they were stripped versions of the actual instances.
