    Experience

    Hi SSG.

I like how you've trimmed the XP curve a little for Anor, so great job on that.

    Ok, so, here's the but . . .

I know a lot of players love XP. They love to level quickly, and from crafting, and killing mobs, quest hand ins etc. I do not wish to add a suggestion to remove those options from those players.

On the live servers, I just go head down and move forward nowadays. No real thought behind how I progress, being it's the nth alt. I wish to work more methodically on Anor. I quest a bit, gather mats, and then go to craft them. I do this, as I go, crafting what little items I can, to use, on the next lot of questing. I appreciate that many players enjoy XP from crafting, and on the other servers, this really doesn't bother me, as I don't start crafting until about 50 anyway (got all professions already covered on earlier alts), but as it's working now, I'm about to hit level 14, and should be in Bree, but I'm not half way through Ered Luin even. When I go there to quest now, I'm very over-level.

Can we please have a toggle to turn off XP while crafting. Make it like it is for weapons in the legendary panel - a little tick box, to disable levelling.

    Thanks.

Once you hit the 20's and 30's you will be very happy for that crafting xp believe me. XP gain has become rather tediously slow even - and constant hopping between regions to do quests, which in itself is good, but even after completing an entire zone it still doesn't feel like you get enough xp now. (To be fair, me and a friend are taking it very slow, using no extra preorder boosts whatsoever).

    Sadly

I've often thought that an XP toggle like you speak of should be a part of any server actually - instead of wasting a pocket slot for the stone of the tortoise - just give us the option to turn off leveling like we can with LIs.

However, that doesn't get you towards the end game grind where they need/want you to spend money in the store for all the things you need, SoE, Star Lits, LI slot unlocks, lootboxes for Embers, etc.

Nope. I hit 20 last night, and I've slotted an XP disabler because, I've still got a lot of breeland to cover and the whole Shire to run back over.

As I said in my OP, I'd love to have the "option" to turn off crafting XP, which doesn't remove it from other players. As it is now, I had to avoid some crafting. I can catch up on that now, because of the XP disabler, but it would have been nice to sync my crafting with my levelling experience.

    Agreed

It has always been an issue and even with slowed EXP you find yourself out leveling the content and the gear making crafting (unless for sale) next to worthless.

i noticed this last night, a white box with a heart in it. normally this is the "Recognition" buff, where we get the +100% XP for quest completion and the like. what i saw on Anor is a -40% to XP as some kind of level balancing or something like that. it was a little odd to see that, but reading what i've seen about landscape/quest XP on the server, it makes sense.

It's been that way since launch. And it seems to work at just the right balance....

If you complete every quest in a zone (e.g. I have completed most quests in Ered Luin, and most quests in Bree/Barrowdowns, there are some in NorthEast bree I did not do) combine with the amount of crafting you need to complete tier 1 and tier 2.... that you are pretty much on-point for the next zone. My "main" is now level 24, and just started the Lone Lands.

The 24 however is WITH the experience bonus items from pre-orders, such as the pocket item, the Shield of the Hammerhand, and the Mordor Earring. I would probably be around 22 without them, and that would have been perfectly on-point for moving on to the next zone. Of course there are also things like GB and instances, which reward experience as well.

The -40% is meant to give a bit more accuracy on the amount of experience gained in the olden days. Maybe not QUITE as rough, but a close approximation. I personally don't mind it. If I wanted to rush to the end-game, I could have just continued on a regular server

I understand the author to not mind quest xp, but instead crafting xp. In that case, the Stone of the Tortoise would be an acceptable "toggle" since she won't be sacrificing a pocket slot during times when she doesn't use the stats to fight. Even then, at such low levels the stat boost from a pocket slot is negligible. I run the Stone of Deruduh throughout the game and I've not encountered an item that has stats I'd give up the xp boost for... to each his own, but perhaps that is an evaluation on the other end as well.

Good luck slowing it down! I'm glad some feel that way. I was worried that when I start my alt nobody would be left a the low levels to help those guys out so I'm glad to see some may well be doing that

I'm using one anyway, but that's kinda beside the point. A toggle to turn off XP while crafting would be great, as not everyone wants to purchase a stone (at least, not for every alt they are rolling).

I'm standing in Bree doing some farming at the moment, and there is an afk farmer next to me - clearly farming XP as there is no harvesting going on. What they are doing, doesn't bother me, but when it takes the same amount of time for me to harvest 5 juicy strawberries, as they take to gain three levels, it seems off. Toggling it, makes it feel more like choice, if you know what I mean.

But if you think about it, it's counter-productive to establish a -40% XP for these servers when everyone and his brother has access to XP boosts item and the store which continually feed you and tempt you to go faster (I see you Sauron!).

My take: no XP bonus of whatever sort (items+crafting) on legend server. When you play there you know what you'er signing for anyway, no surprise. There's normal server for all the roadrunner race.
