Thanks Cordovan. You're wonderfully diligent about the Events Schedule which is a great improvement since you came to us for which we're grateful.

We appreciate the work done to ensure few things un-Tolkien sneak into the game... meaning we only lost a few battles (Oh! You wondered what they were? Well, just one example is when Crafting Guilds first came out and our lowbie scholar toons struggled to Rivendell and searched the second floor of the Last Homely House for the Guild Hall only to find it's on the first floor But then Tolkien may have just said "It's upstairs" and left us to find out how many stairs to climb ha ha

(Note for those who don't understand and are interested, in England the first floor is upstairs, but I'm well off topic now so back to the game )

With the change of keys and lootboxes in the wake of U23 - what sense is there to have a lootbox weekend?

In older days I hardly found lootboxes (and keys) dropping faster or more often than outside such a weekend. With keys shop only now and just the new lootboxes dropping I find it just questionable to have such an event.

Treasure hunter event points you to the shop, too. But at least you can get the pick-axes in-game. Having lootboxes thrown at you with no more means to open them in-game (once old keys are used) up isn't fun for me.

Will that vendor for older lootboxes that Cordovan mentioned be introduced then at least?

    Harvestmath Festival Encore

With Hobnanigans being active this weekend will the rest of the events take place like promoted in the Schedule? Will the Harvestmath Festival Encore contain the wrapper and figments quest row as it is now or will it be adapted again?

    Just asking to plan accordingly.

They could change the upcoming lootbox weekend to a buried treasure one - where we unearth lootboxes and can exchange special keys for them from the barterer

I hate to ask, since I see we have an encore on the schedule, but... will this Harvestmath be extended by a couple days due to the issues early on?

It would be nice, since we have all this awesome new stuff to do and get.

If not, I guess the encore makes up for it, but hey I like icing on my cake. :-D

I'm not sure why they would extend - they already made changes to accommodate the bugged quest, plus they have the encore. Seems like overkill.

Hm, ok. Will there be other 25% XP Boost weekends in the future or are those gone?

Just going through the stream from last week and if I'm not mistaken (no native English Speaker) it was mentioned the Yuletide Festival is going to start sooner (with this week's patch).

To do some planning: when will it end in that case?

From the Schedule so far Yuletide Festival is to run from

    12/18/18@10am
    to
    1/14/19@3am.

I ran out of time today to update the Events Schedule, and will hopefully get that done tomorrow. To answer your question:

Yuletide Festival 12/13@10am 1/14@3am (all times Eastern)

Ok, the original post has been updated with the latest information. I would caution that while we still have the Yuletide Festival starting at 10:00am Eastern on Thursday, we're also tentatively planning to release a game update on Thursday (stay tuned). So, the start time might actually be whenever we reopen the worlds.

ALSO: As you can see, we've got the schedule set up through the early part of 2019, but the rest of the year is pretty blank right now. So, now is a great time to let us know which events are your favorite, which you would like to see return more regularly, and which you'd prefer we do less often (yup, we know Hobnanigans has a divided opinion.)

I definitely like the Treasure Hunt, and it's been some time since we have seen one Maybe in February after yule?

Also, I would love it if the developers would look into creating a few more "mini" festivals that pop up throughout the year. New ones, maybe a "mathom hunt" throughout an area of the shire in very similar fashion to the Treasure Hunt..... or a mini festival around Adso's camp somewhere, or around Duillond, etc.... something new. Something that can pop up maybe once a quarter or so.

Farmer's Faire! Please either extend it, or offer a second helping of it like you do with the seasonal festivals. <3

I despise festivals or events of any kind, but I have a possible compromise that might get me into them. essence reclamation scrolls and star lit Crystals are things in high demand these days. Bring down the price for these a lot for festival barter. include also anfalas scrolls of empowerment at a reasonable price, and you will see a lot more people invest their time in these events, increasing in game time for sure.

2018's schedule seemed really good. Festivals were appropriately placed during the proper seasons of the year.

Well except for some of the encores, but that's understandable. I've been debating with myself which is better, longer festivals to begin with, or encores of the festival. I can't decide which I prefer.

One thing that would be great for a lot of people I think, would be if the festival barter exchange NPC could stick around for a day or so after the festival activities end. If that's possible.

I think I like all the festivals pretty equally. And I love when new stuff is added to them (like all the awesome new stuff in the Harvest festival). And Yule Fest in July was fun!

I'm in the more frequent Hobnanigans camp. And the treasure hunt could certainly happen more often. Or... any other new small events like those would be great!

Oh and P.S. Put that dang Poorly Hidden Chest in the haunted burrow on a different timer! Either reset at the standard reset time. Or a 20 hour cool down after opening. Thanks!

My favourite festivals are the ones where a lot of quests are takeable in one place (summer, farmer's faire, fall and yule). I mostly do them to earn essence reclamation scrolls and anfalas star-lit crystals. I think anfalas scrolls of empowerment would be a great addition to festival rewards. And having a 'festival centre' also for anniversary and spring festivals would be great.

Time-table wise I think this year's (2018) plan was great - all festivals were during the fitting time.
There's some good in this world, and it is worth fighting for.

For me a monthly Hobnanigans (a weekend) is fine. Hobnanigans items cost a lot of tokens, and you can to put other active event without problem at the same time. In my opinion the festivals list and hobaninags weekends are two separate things and you can to manage it this way. Only my humble opinion.

Some feedback and wishes for 2019:

    Overall, 2018's Schedule was fine!

The new summer instances and the additions to the Harvestmath were really great.

The Treasure Hunt could be active more often in the coming years. Just please make the bound to account emotes to be bartered for tokens even if the char already knows them.

Farmers Faire is a nice event with lots to do, so an extension or better an encore would be great.

The Return to Winterhome in Summer was a nice addition to cool down in the summer.

But please get rid of Lootbox Weekends. Don't really make sense any more imho.

In the past there were some "events" with GMs walking around the servers giving out fashion titles and such. Perhaps there are some realistic ideas for some interaction and fun without a lot of work to be done.

I'm not sure what to do with hobnanigans.
Us players in my kinship like some of the rewards but prices are quite high.
We do play it sometimes but when festivals/events overlap hobnanigans loses most of the time.
Personally I'd prefer to be able to play a little game or two whenever we are in the mood to do so, not on a given weekend (making them permanent available instead of just at an event, perhaps like a skirmish or something like that). And perhaps have a hobnanigans tokens +% weekend or some kind of official championship weekend instead with titles or so.
Truth to be told that event needs some love imho.

I generally like encores better than just extensions having quite some chars to run through festivals. So a pause is appreciated. And often I realise that I missed a char or got a new one or needed some more housing items or such things. Then I can to that in the encore.
Besides of course simply having little to no time to play at the original time of an event.

Having festival barterers around all time would be nice indeed. And adding those other LI items to the barter lists would be great - but only at a reasonable price which the actual token prices for crystals are not imho. Especially if you happen to have more than one char.

I'd really want the costume NPCs to stick around all time. I like the costumes.

The reduced cost for Warsteed cosmetics was fantastic, the non reduced prices of last year's mount not so. Adding figments as rewards was really fine!

Looking forward to Yuletide Festival and the new instances.
