Maybe we should re-sub to gain this 4 day bonus ? I bet on it. :3
I am wondering why i am paying LP for this game and support lotro. I feel really bad atm.
Save us Lord !
I have 2 VIP accounts, both with ongoing yearly subscriptions, and both still have the original date for renewal - no extra 4 days.
However since I intend to continue as VIP until I no longer play, the extra 4 days is meaningless so it doesn't worry me.
I just posted so that SSG will be aware that the extra 4 days is still not added in many cases.
I am indeed interested how they are going to solve this. As there was quite some time (several weeks) between the downtime, and the awarding of the 4 days account time to VIP accounts.... those people whose VIP had lapsed in the meantime would have gotten nothing.
So in short, people who no longer are VIP now, but were during the downtime are owed something....
Either:
1) A refund for 4 days.
2) A VIP code for 4 days.
3) 4 days automatically added to their first VIP month when they sign up again.....
Option 2 seems the most fair to me, not everyone would want to spend additional money just to get their 4 days added, and a refund is a hassle for everyone: It is costly for SSG, and at a cost of 50 cents a day (based on $15 a month), you'd be getting $2. Big whoop.
I'm willing to bet though.... that SSG didn't really think of this particular scenario.![]()

Disclaimer: The definition of "Soon™" and "In The Near Future™" is based solely on SSG's interpretation of the words, and all similarities with dictionary definitions of the word "Soon™", "Near", and "Future" are purely coincidental and should not be interpreted as a time frame that will come to pass within a reasonable amount of time.
Since these subscriptions began in February, they only included 28 days, so it's more like 54¢/d (plus tax) (OT: they should charge by number of days instead of "one month")...but yeah. The point stands. I think for most of us it's the time rather than the money, and I'm among those who wouldn't buy in for another month to get the days I already paid for - that would seem like a downright fraudulent setup.

In my opinion, the best solution would be 4 days of VIP given to the accounts that are now Premium. There are three possible options here:
Option 1: Look in the database, see which accounts turned Premium AFTER the downtime, but BEFORE the 4-day grant..... and simply add 4 days of VIP time to all of those accounts.
Upside: Everyone gets their 4 days.
Downside: If you just grant 4 days, and someone doesn't play for a week and then finds out he HAD 4 days of VIP that have now once again lapsed..... it wouldn't be too fair.
Option 2: Create a 4-day VIP code, and send the unique code to everyone that was affected.
Upside: Everyone can decide when to start their VIP.
Downside: People may not receive the email, their email address associated with the account might not be updated (this happens more often than you think, people forget about it.... they just log on to the game) - Another downside is that they will probably want to give the code an expiration date (so people don't go around selling/buying codes for years on end) and if they don't read their email till after....
Option 3: Have affected people contact support when they are ready to receive their 4 days.
Upside: Everyone can decide when to contact support to get it done.
Downside: Support isn't available round the clock, and if someone puts in a ticket on Friday because they think they can VIP through the weekend, and it doesn't get dealt with till Monday...... they will be upset.
All in all, this is a rather interesting scenario, and SSG probably is still thinking about a solution.
An update though, would indeed be appreciated!![]()

Of these ideas, I think option 2 would be the best for everyone - as you say, 1 could leave players out in the dark if they're not active right when it's applied; and option 3 sounds like a *lot* more work for the support team. They could send a code to affected players in-game as well - a one-use-per-account code but send it to all characters' mail for the best chance of finding it, whichever character they use next. Or even a one-use-period code that's unique for each account, to prevent buying/selling?

A 4 day vip code is really a good option.
That is probably the best. Cordovan's silence on the matter though makes me think they simply had not considered this scenario, and they are probably still trying to work it out. Remember: They changed store providers a year or two ago, and creating codes for things isn't always an easy thing to do apparently, especially when it comes to account matters like this one.

I have 4 VIP accounts/subscriptions plus one VIP for my wife and none have the added 4 days. So not all the accounts have been updated. according to my subscriptions. Waiting Patiently
Beia
4 extra days of VIP are rather meaningless to me in the long run since I can't play on Legendary servers without VIP anyways.
Reminds me of premium housing: no upkeep if you're VIP, but expensive upkeep without being VIP, yet can't even get to the premium house on legendary servers without being VIP anyways.

4 days of VIP roughly equates to 3.99 U.S. dollars that effectively departed my pockets during that outtage. I intend to get it back.
Don't talk about getting back money. Be serious please. This is not about it and there is no reason for it.
Ok i got a coupon code for vip. All true and eligible premium member in my case should be post here.
Thanks SSG.
So do you have to post here to get your 4 days lost vip back........because still nothing...
Are you eligible ? FAQ here = > https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...and-FAQ-3-9-19

If you pay monthly @ $14.99, VIP costs you roughly 50 cents a day. So 4 days are about $2.
If you pay 3-monthly @ $27.99, which is actually a much better deal than paying monthly.... you pay about 31 cents a day, or $1.24 for four days.
Note that SSG (And Turbine) have always had in their terms of service that they do not give refunds, so a return of actual money is not going to happen. Best you can hope for is 4 days of VIP time added to your current subscription so your renewal date is pushed 4 days forward, or if you are currently not subscribing a 4-day VIP code of some sort, which is the predicament people in this post seem to be in.
If you however *INSIST* on the money being paid to you, you could hire a $200-an-hour lawyer to see if you could sue them. You might get your $2 back. And a nice hefty lawyer bill.![]()
