    Game not launching

    I have a problem. After the latest patch my game cant launch. I log in just fine and when i hit play, client disapears but game doesnt launch. I tried running the client as administrator but then launcher stops on Downloading "EN Lotro Splash Screen" and a new window pops up saying Run as. I choose administrator and the same thing happens (launcher disapears) except there is no login screen and the client launches again and asks me again Run as in neverending loop. I tried reinstalling the game but same thing happens. Any ideas for a solution?

    PS: I hope you understand me, english is not my main language. Also i wont be able to reply until Friday.

    Angry Us too

    We have 5 machines, with Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Linux Mint 18.1. We've literally over 30 LOTRO accounts, several of them VIP, have been playing since 2008, and we haven't been able to access LOTRO for three days. We've tried all the 'tricks' and 'work arounds' for each operating system and NOTHING works.

    The best we've gotten is on one of our Linux Mint 18.1 machines we get it to go all the way to the login screen like you did where you select the Server and then it just disappears. I've checked literally hundreds of possibilities and we are out of options... from using XP workarounds, running on Virtual Machines, reinstalling, using different versions of LOTRO (i.e. pre Standing Stone Games, downloading the Standing Stone Games version)... deleting Library files... I'm a programmer and I give up. We've spent at times over $1,000 on LOTRO in a month between our accounts and I'm about as frustrated as I've ever been with any kind of software.

    They really need to fix this on their end. I've lost 3 days of work trying to fix our machines, and we PAY to play.

    Unhappy

    Having the same issue!! Completely stumped, and I feel better now that I see even a tech savvy person can't get around this any better than I can, no offense. Since the last update I'm not able to patch nor connect to said patch server at all. No way to play the game now. SIGH I give up!!

    hi - having similar problem today - i was playing game just fine then had a black out while i was in middle of instance - when power came back tried to open game and it opened game laucher - was able to put in game log in and pasword then nothing - game didnt launch - reinstaled the game and still had same problem - what i did was clear the game infro from my documents folder and when i reopened patcher it worked - well sort off - it opened game - i pass the intro with standing stone logo and all - it takes forever to pass the loadin screen before character screen opens and then when the character list finally apears i see all the characters i have but the screen where they should appear is all black - if i click enter realm it starts to load but never does - the bar doesnt fill up an inch - so i`m stuck at this stage - any advice or something - there is a sticky in the free account suport part (https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...ace-Class-quot) but when i try to open it it goes to a page that no longer exists - anyone else experienced this sort of thing - any help is welcomed - thx

    Couple of suggestions. Try setting the game to DX9 from the Options on character select screen (may have to restart and you'll be able to change it to what you want afterwards) and see if your characters appear. Also try, from the launcher, clicking on the little down arrow at the top and selecting Options and then rest graphics to default. Sometime though, if you crash out of the game, the character you're playing can get in a bit of a limbo state and it can take a while to sort itself out (I lost one for a week once).

    well u were right about it resetting itself - cause today after the server reset i was able to enter the game - so i guess he really did enter limbo - wish i could ask how it was in game purgatory

    Same Problem

    Hoping this helps someone.
    After updating Windows 10 this morning, I could get up to "Getting in line to connect" screen and then nothing....
    Turns out VCRUNTIME140.dll got deleted/corrupted or something. Reinstalled it and now can get into the game.

    cant log into game

    I just finished downloading the game with the 6Gb extra content. I click on the desktop shortcut and the launcher opens where I put in my login details. when I put in my details en press enter it gives me this message: "Failed to read authentication response [err: unexpected end of file][line: 1][col: 1]

    PLEASE HELP

    Same issue

    I had the same issue. I reinstall DirextX9 and it works great
