Legendary Angmar: Defeating the Shadow - initial quest

    Is this quest broken?

I mean the initial quest, Legendary Angmar: Defeating the shadow, where the objective is to complete ten of the listed quests to unlock the weekly quest called- Legendary Angmar: Defeating the shadow (Advanced).

No matter how many times I go kill Bogbereth, or do any of the listed quests at the reflection pool, they are not ticking down off the wrapper quest. Rift did, Barz and Zurm did, CD did, Fornost didn't, as examples. How can we open the weekly if the initial quest is not counting down?

The quest has been working normally for months, unless it was recently broken. On the instances, you only have to complete the instance at level 50 to advance the legendary quest. On the landscape, you have to unlock and have the individual, repeatable quest for the boss at Gath Forthnir: Bogbereth, Ferndur, each of the emissaries, or the three instance quests next to the stablemaster. Reflection pool doesn't advance the legendary at all as far as I recall.

Twas fine for me a week ago.i clearly recall Completing the First Tier Legendary Angmar: Defeating the Shadow. One must complete ten different quests in order to finish it. If you kill Bogbereth let us say for instance 2 or 100 times it would not matter. One time will be enough.

Regarding Rift. Only Thaurlach counts for the deed. You have to either clear the entire raid or the Balrog. Same goes for Helegrod, any wing should do. Defeating individual bosses is a no go. Starting Rift and slaying Barz wil not count towards deeds progression.

    For Emissaries you have to grab the quest in Garth Forthnir and then manually ride to each of the Dreaded towers {Barad Gularan}

There are no quests for Legendary Angmar: Defeating the Shadow from Reflection pool. It is either an instance or slaying landscape boss.

For Battles , there are three npcs standing outside Gath Forthnir , talk to them and proceed to finish. You first have to finish Battle of Aughaire to unlock Further battle instances.

Any instance listed from quest must be completed fully and once only. Do not attempt to finish it multiple times, unless you have the Advanced version of Legendary Angmar then you are allowed to repeat it.

To add something else for Emissaries it can be confusing or Ferndur/Bogbereth make sure to have the raid quest, Master of Imlad Balchroth. There is a guide on wikia where to find Npcs and notes which will lead you later on. I believe the first kill does not towards deed.

I hope my post will provide more light.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's definitely not working for me.

Went to kill Bogbereth again, and it still isn't counting.

Tried the Emissary instances from the pool (no other way to do them once they've been done on the main story) and those aren't counting either.

Hmm, sounds like you may still be doing it wrong (I hate saying that).

If you're doing the Emissary quest through the pool you're doing it the wrong way. Inside Gath Forthnir there is an NPC who will offer you the Legendary Angmar version of each of the Emissaries. You will only get those after you have killed the appropriate wandering mob and did it the first time. If you are doing it through the instance you are redoing the initial quest and not the Legendary Angmar quest.

Same thing with Bogbereth. After you have completed the first kill of Bogbereth through the questline, you can then receive a Legendary Angmar quest to kill Bogbereth. Killing Bogbereth without having the Legendary Angmar specific quest to kill her will not give you credit. Just having the Legendary Angmar wrapper quest isn't enough, you need the specific quest for her.

For Fornost, as mentioned below it must be run at level cap. Same with Great Barrows.

If you are on Anor and need help, send me an in-game mail (Okendor) and I can try to help out when I'm online.

    Good luck!

Yeah, that's what I said. You have to have the repeatable quests for Bogbereth, Ferndur, and the Emissaries from Gath Forthnir, and then go to each one and do them. The reflecting pool does not advance the legendary. You repeat the Emissaries by going back to each door and running in like you did when you first did the main story, but you have to have the repeatable quest for each emissary from GF for it to count. You unlock the emissary quests by killing wandering named mobs in the towns just west of GF and turning in their items in GF.
