The only thing currency cap on Figments means to me is I won't be logging in anymore for festivals until I can barter what I want from Filbert Fig.
- "But you don't have to take festival wrapper quests that award figments"
Yes, and I also don't have to support a game that shanks its customers and treats them with this much contempt. I can easily get my Tolkien and LotR fix from other media.
If yanking the Figment barter NPCs with zero notice is meant to force players into spending Figments "now" and re-grind them perpetually due to currency cap, SSG may be surprised to discover how unpopular this is among the very same festival/cosmetics demographic they're relying on to pay the bills. Customer loyalty takes effort to maintain, takes dismissive attitude to repel.

To keep the feedback constructive, here is the overwhelming response on this issue:
The consensus on bringing back Filbert Fig and the Curator is overwhelming. SSG personnel reading this will spot among these names many prominent cosmetic bloggers and long-time Lotro supporters.
Bottom line, failing to communicate exact time frames for Figment barter availability and removing them without warning should at the very least result in reinstating these NPCs for remainder of Summer festival.
Here is some actionable feedback for SSG concerning the future of "seasonal barters":
a) Make all Figment barter NPCs available year round, but have SEASONAL DISCOUNTS on Figment items. Eg: Moria Figment decorations cost 50% less Figments in the spring, but are full price for remainder of year.
b) If you want to keep the "seasonal" rotation, remove the cap limit on Figments. Period.

But weren't the seasonal barterers a late addition (only been there 2-3 months or so) - before that there was no hint of anything seasonal yet you could still barter figments? It was nice to see additional items but the old curator was still there.
So I have a sneaky suspicion this is an error in the code and it wasn't intended to remove the original curator. OR the seasonal vendors were meant to replace the original curator and shouldn't have remained once the new barterers were added.
Either way it wasn't good planning to remove them during a festival...
Festivals are the only times I play anymore (in the absence of meaningful change to the LI grind) and I was saving up for an expensive item on the figment barter. Now that it's gone, that removes my last incentive to play at all.
Please bring it back.

Not signed. Less cosmetic pets hunting ,more true warriors needed to stand against the Dark forces of Arda.
Summer festival and Cosmetic Pet addiction has become such an distraction for many, Players have it way to easy and incredibly accessible too. There are 180+ Pets in game. There is almost more interest of collecting apples, killing heats and building your shrew collection than raiding, my my. Inconceivable
It is time to leave your fishing rod aside and unite to stand against the dread lords.

Seasonally rotating mote/fig items add needless complication. Furthermore, it doesn't mesh well with the low currency-cap the system employs.
While we may of us focus on our cosmetic pet addiction, we still find the time to do our daily quests, regular quests.... and if we are ready and able to, we'll still raid.
The Summer Festival and Cosmetic Pet addiction is hardly a distraction if you ask me but each to their own.
Do what you want to do that makes you happy and we will do what we want to do that makes us happy.
There are more ways to play the game than just raiding.
So the update is done, but Curator is still missing....
More time to focus on character progression, yes.
Still, doing this without notifying the players is - fooling us.
No. Not doing it any more.
So collecting figments is useless - until you decide to bring back the stuff we were working our butts off for!
I was really hoping today's update put the vendors back where they belong, but alas no.
I think leaving the vendors missing is making a big mistake. Being overly precious over how cosmetic items are distributed and when is all good and well, provided you remember that players need constant incentive to play. Abitrarily removing those little things that keep some of us motivated is SSG shooting themselves in the foot in the long-term, as people who find their main motivation is in maintaining their collections, are going to find little else to tide them over until the next opportunity arrives to get this mount or that pet (possibly until they're also, and without warning, removed for seemingly no reason as well).
And it's not just the fact that the vendors were removed, but the nature in which it was done. Barely no warning, no real reason and at the beginning of a festival whose rewards include a currency designed specifically to be bartered at those very vendors. Seriously, it's mind-boggling! Dangling a carrot and then removing it at the last minute isn't going to keep leading even the most gulluble customer by the nose for long.
Hi everyone,
To clarify the figment vendors:
Filbert Fig/Rowan Raspberry and a few others you’ll meet are temporary vendors that will come and go periodically. The term we used was not the best choice of words as it implied something that we didn’t mean for it to imply, as in tying in with seasonal festivals. These vendors rotate with actual real life seasons, so approximately every 3 months-ish. During that 3 month-ish period, the periodic vendor will offer all of the cosmetics available in lootboxes during their rotation.
The Curator also falls into the temporary vendor category. The curator will offer older cosmetic items. This includes old items from Gorgoroth, Traveller’s, and Adventurer’s lootbxoes, but will also eventually include items from Filbert and Co. Therefore the Curator’s offerings will grow periodically. We don’t currently have any plans to permanently retire cosmetics from the Curator.
These are new types of vendors to Middle-earth. Our apologies for not appropriately and clearly communicating their behaviors to start. In the future we’ll try harder to give you a better sense of their comings and goings. Thank you for your feedback.
Thank you RedPanda, when can we expect this timetable? Especially for the Curator that most of us seem to have been saving up for?
Also could you elaborate on the reason why there is a cap on the Figments of Splendour? I was saving for something expensive, and i don't want to waste any Figments on stuff from the new vendor. How long do I need to wait at capped level?
RedPanda, but you moved items from the original figments/ember vendors (the ones en Bree Boar Fountain and other places) to the Curator, and then you removed the Curator.... For example the Felegoth Elk was PRE-EXISTENT to the Curator, and now, its gone, because you moved it from the original ash vendor (later transformed in motes/embers/figments vendor) to the Curator.
Im not speaking about new items INTRODUCED with the Curator, im speaking about items PREVIOUS to Curator existence in-game...
PLEASE reconsider it, mantain the Curator as a permanent figments vendor, with old items and rotate the seasonal ones if you want.
Sergio :-)
Note: Im really very angry with this choice, but more angry because you introduce new things in game and NEVER full explain it and then us, the players, need to discover how things work without full information about the topic. No offense, only my own personal opinion as player and suscriptor.

Moved from Riddermark to Landroval on 2/10/1015!
Thanks for explaining. When might the Curator come back? It's frustrating to suddenly go three days from an item I wanted to six months? Nine months? Even if I liked other figment things, I'd not dare use any in case the Curator comes back with as much warning as she left.
Waitwaitwait. Does this mean the Neekerbreekers I'm collecting are SEASONAL? I haven't gotten them all yet!!
Nellum - Champion || Doctordorf - Guardian || Simaru - Hunter
Flour - Minstrel || Pheawyn - Runekeeper
If you must do it like this, then you need to at least double the amount of figments we can hold. And also WARN us in advance on when the barter NPCS are going to be removed!
Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy
The combination of removing the vendors AND having a cap on figments is what I wonder about. If you are saving up to get an item and the vendor (Curator in this case, since many seemed to have the impression that vendor was permanent) goes *poof*, you are left with either spending on something you might not want and risking not having enough later when the vendor reappears, or getting stuck with the currency capped and missing out on what you'd earn in the rest of the festival.
