Its not at all scaled for essences. Essence gear is garbage at level 65, save cloaks or bells. Any essence setup was phased out at level 51, so that literally has ZERO bearing on anything to do with the current scaling. Not a single person in my kin, which everyone wants to keep pointing out is the only one to OD challenges(which again isnt true), uses any essence gear, except bell if they have it or cloak. Most either have one or the other or none at all. It is scaled for stat caps, which are ridiculously easy to hit and are much easier to hit with actual gear drops than essence pieces.

The content was made with max essences in mind, not regular gear. Hells bells, even the start areas 5 to 50 were inflated morale so it's slugfest skillskillskillskill for one mob. Saw a cappy hacking away outside Bree, they said it frequently took them 7 skill uses to kill a wolf. Untwinked.
I say they should adjust everything instead and of course remove the silly essences.
24-people afk raids on /follow autoclicking in landscape field is top notch silly for looting the best of the best, yet people spent weeks. It's like being back at square -12 with horse-lord recipes.
So it's about the gear gap and not the mobs. Adjust the gear so content doesn't have to be inflated.
I had read a post about essences, which was for regular servers. Sorry about that.
The opinion still stands that content could and maybe even should be available to everyone -
and if some classes need tougher content because the classes are overpowered
...then the problem is not with the content but with those classes.
The MAKE EVERYTHING HAAAAARDER crowd posse here on forums did indeed make me largely leave the game for greener pastures in 2018 so you are not wrong. Instead of adjusting 1-2 flavor of the year classes, the content throughout almost all levels of the game was trashed until it was no longer regognizable.
