    What is this?

    I guess I should know.
My bear companion...every so often there is a "bang" and a yellow flower-like icon flashes above him for an instant. There's no apparent effect on him. I THINK this only started recently.
    Thanks.

    Its simple.
When humans have a sudden brilliant idea, a light bulb appears over their heads.
When bears have a sudden brilliant idea a dandelion appears over their heads.

Like I told you...What I said...Steal your face right off your head.

It came with the update. I assume you can filter the sound. I haven’t done so because I assume it’s a bug that’ll be fixed soon. The sound is like a hammer strike and makes little sense for the bear. It’s quite frankly, unbearable.
"...None of us would join the Grey Company if we felt its errand was not important enough to brave those risks. For my part, I will not give in to fear of the unknown. We all have our role to play, and I hope only that when I have played mine, the world will have been better for my having been in it.

Its the sound that I would normally associate with breaking a mob's induction if that's any pointer.

Is it only when the bear is out and what skuills do you have as "auto"?

I noticed that in one short story instance of the new area, where some Beorning NPC gather together in their bear-forms and celebrate their victory over the baddies. While they're talking i noticed the same sound and they had those yellow symbols over them.

Yep, only when the bear is out, and the symbol appears above him. I have the bear set on "guard mode". I have no skills on auto other than "track artifacts". It happens even if we're just standing there.

No big deal, it seems. Just weird.

This happens only with the Bear and in any area; it is a bug that showed up with the Floodfells update.

It happens to all bears (pets, beorns in bear form, bear NPCs)...
Yesterday on the Eavespire, with plenty of bears around, felt like inside a popcorn pan: blink! blink! blink! all around

I noticed this also. I'm on a Legendary server, not playing a Lore Master. All bears get this as I go by.

    Seems to have been fixed.

I had renamed my bear Boomer, but now he's back to Ben. An old 70's TV show.
