I have not played in about a year, just spent a full day waiting for game to update. When I tried to run it I selected a server and hit PLAY. It seemed ok for about 10 seconds, then... nothing. I did a search and found an article that suggested changing the title of the Lord of the Rings Online folder in DOCUMENTS. I tried that and it didn't work. Suggestions?
EDIT: I have TRIED to get technical support, my ticket has thus far been ignored. I don't think I have ever waited this long for a problem like this with any MMO I have ever played. Not goo,

Finally got an answer on my ticket, which was no answer at all... "We no longer support..." yada yada...
I renamed the old files just in case and did a totally fresh install, it took hours but it worked. I am not running the latest Mac OS though, I am using High Sierra.
Well came back after a while, did the updates as expected the app bounces then promptly crashes. I couldn't be bothered downloading the whole thing yet again. If they can't be bothered with us mac users then I can't be bothered with them. There are plenty more fish in the sea.

Hi,
First I'm French so thank you to use simple word ^^
I have the same problem, with OSX Yosemite 10.10.5. I can choose a world but when I select play the window closes. How did you exactly fix this ? Thank you

Woxfort, are you sure you're using the current version of the Mac client? The old Mac client was an actual native Mac application but it is no longer supported. The current Mac client is actually the Windows client in a WINE wrapper. If you're using the old Mac client, you should delete it and download the new Mac client from here: http://live.lotro.com/sites/clientdl.../lotrolive.dmg
Just delete the old client application, there is no need to delete the files in your ~/Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online folder which is where things like your UI layout are stored.
It shouldn't matter, but is there some reason you are still using Yosemite rather than Mojave? Mojave is the latest version of the macOS which will run the game without any special effort on the part of the user. While I doubt it, there is a small chance that some components of the more recent versions of WINE won't run on Yosemite.

Yes I dowloaded the current version which use WINE to run. So for you the solution is to download Mojave ?
I keep Yosemite because I try with Sierra and it was not better, and some equipment that I have didn't work with Sierra because of drivers. I have an old Macbook pro (2013) then the current IOS on it I'm not sure it will be good
