@Cordovan - About the extended downtime tomorrow.

    Hi Cord,

Thanks for the heads up around the extended maintenance work. Is there anything happening particularly that's causing the maintenance to go a bit longer? Server performance and the overall technical state of the game is kind of a hot topic/passionate issue right now, so if there's anything going on behind the scenes tomorrow you can update us with, we'd appreciate it.

    Thanks for the hard work.

Usually extended maintenance starts earlier in the day which is better for most but I'm not complaining - the servers desperately need some improvements and just maybe this will help at least for a while.

https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...87#post8058287 - Cordovan even say recently what if we have update it's not necessary to having maintenance in same week. And we have even extended maintenance in 48 hours after hotfix. What happens?

Anyone else read this notice and think "Here we go again..."?

Fingers crossed this doesn't turn into another long outage.

wonder if they will be able to meet their schedule of 6 hours (or less), less than optimistic here

We can only hope they are doing this cause of the bad performance of servers the past 2 weeks
How this is not flooding the forums is actually beyond me.

Seems like the general lotro player is fine with constant server lag and loading screen stucked.

Let's just pray it gets a little better after this downtime

We decided to do today's maintenance despite having a patch on Monday to do further and deeper maintenance to the game environment in response to your and other people's posts about lag. It would be good to hear from an outside perspective what difference if any it has made.

The patch pushed out on Monday, rather than wait, to do some performance work didn't show any difference for me in game. I will let you know if today's patch makes any difference after playing through a weekend (which is when it is usually at it's worst).

I'm definitely feeling a positive impact. The most significant thing is riding around on landscape feels smoother. Not sure about raids etc. yet. Thanks for the update!

Today's downtime happened based on conversations on Tuesday, so as of the time of Monday's patch we hadn't yet decided to do our wider maintenance work. However, the lag reports we've been seeing have been concerning, and there was value in doing this particular maintenance work today, so we decided to move forward with the plan despite having just had a downtime for the patch.

This is very helpful information. Do you think in future we could be told this along with the downtime announcement? If there were reports of lag, saying you're attempting to solve them with the downtime would put a lot of players minds at ease.

They can put specific server to maintenance, I don't see enough reasons to put all servers to extended downtime right after hotfix because some people on some servers complain about lags.
