His map-reading skills sparked a momentous (and monstrous) discovery.

Crickhollow: Wisa/Weesa, Elvisa/Elvysa and many other Elv's, Reaboj, Sunberry, Altheah, Ooma's and some others. Landroval: Sunnberry, Raynbel, Starberry, Burraberry, Sugarree, Magnolia, and a bunch of others too. Anor: Elviska, Wisa, Elvisa, and more. Laurelin: Sunberry, Wisaberry, Elvisa Gwaihir: Sunberry. Sirannon: Sunberry. Treebeard: Wisa,Moonberry, Sunberry, Wisaberry, Elvisa and more. Brandywine: Raynberry
The answer is indeed Gléowine, mentioned only very briefly in the book, but realised by the devs into a fully fleshed out character in his own right, with his own in-depth storyline. Another great example of the great lore-faithful storycrafting that we enjoy in this game.
Sorry for the off topic but indeed /skal to that and long live LOTRO <3

I'm afraid that is not the answer I am looking for. I will give a hint in a day or so if needed.

HINT: While Elrond certainly deciphered elements on a map he was not reading it, as in attempting to follow it.

"None of them had much spirit left.
Now strange to say Mr. Baggins had more than the others. He would often borrow Thorin's map and gaze at it, pondering over the runes and the message of the moon-letters Elrond had read. It was he that made the dwarves begin the dangerous search on the western slopes for the secret door."

This fellow we meet at Hob Hillbrow's home in Glass-blowers' Camp in Evendim.
And we can also spot him as a member of the Writing Society which meets regularly at The Bird and Baby Inn in Michel Delving.
And I have heard that he can also be found in the back room of the Frostbluff Theatre, during the Yule Festival, finishing a play.
While this sort of fits into Lotro Trivia it also certainly fits in Tolkien Trivia. Some clever blending of IP-creator and Game.
“‘This legend or myth or dim memory of some ancient history has always troubled me. In sleep I had the dreadful dream of the ineluctable Wave, either coming out of the quiet sea, or coming in towering over the green inlands. It still occurs occasionally, though now exorcized by writing about it. It always ends by surrender, and I awake gasping out of deep water. I used to draw it or write bad poems about it.’
—J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter 257
It was this dream that inspired the story of the Downfall of Númenor. In The Lord of the Rings, the Professor transfers his dream to Faramir.” http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Atlantis
Faramir dreamed of this several times, and Boromir also dreamt of it. They told Denethor about it and he sent Boromir to Rivendell to seek counsel.
Above all shadows rides the Sun and Stars for ever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done, nor bid the Stars farewell.
Way to go Samwise! Tolkien, the “creator” of Middle Earth, had a recurring dream of a large wave that he gave to Faramir. A character that the Professor once said, “As far as any character is like me, it is Faramir”. Peter Jackson chose to give Faramir’s “Wave” dream to Éowyn in Return of the King.

I cede the stick to you wise traveler.
Thank you!
Here’s the new riddle:
An most unnatural autumn
Above all shadows rides the Sun and Stars for ever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done, nor bid the Stars farewell.
