Possibly too early to tell.
LM's are supposed to be a support class. That is true for only 1 tree, yellow, with 10 cast-able support skills. Although red tree is designed as a damage tree it does have 2 cast-able support skill, Ring of Fire (debuff) and Ents go to war (stun). Blue tree on the other hand has 0 cast-able support skills. It only has pet triggered fellow buffs tied to random pet crits. Also blue tree only has 1 LI legacy, inner flame. Which, IMO, is near useless and it's not a support skill.

Blue tree is in desperate need of dev love to live up to it's designated role, support.

I agree, this should be a separate thread.

I picked this up having been asked a couple of times in the last day or so "pls dont do the set the floor alight thing" which I interpret as RoF, presumably this either still adversely affects folk, or there is a mamory of that. Any experience of this of late? Ents Go To War is too slow to be much of a useful skill in my view, the induction takes too long to react unless you are very fast

I've been looking at the prospect of a red/yellow (orange?!) hybrid for support, pet swapping has made catmint less desirable so should not need to go that deep into Blue, really comes down to how much yellow line can be stacked up after getting the red capstone, comparable with getting max Ancient Craft and such Fire and Frost Lore as remains.

FoKD Balrog is very weak to fire damage, the combination of raven + AC +Tar +warding circle, stacked Wind Lore and Fire RKs should be very effective but I'm still open to doubt on any real dps contribution we might make.

What has the assembled wisdom chosen?

"pls dont do the set the floor alight thing" which I interpret as RoF ...

This could also mean Fierce Lightning which is missing a damage description.

That's a vaible alternative, but isnt much of the debuff RoF offers, save that enough dps is itself a form of debuff, being dead is a big crimp to a boss' actions :-)

Agreed, ROF is a good debuff but it doesn't stack

Sadly, not all debuffs refresh/stack from a second LM. A higher debuff will always over write a lower one.

Even Fire and frost lore can't be refreshed by a second LM. Instead they would have to be recast.

Wind lore is ignored by a second caster until the debuff has expired.

Ancient craft/Enfeeble can have it's timer refreshed by a second LM while it still has a useful timer, assuming it's the same tier. But there is only a few seconds per cycle that it would be useful.

Blinding Flash and Bane Flare can be refreshed by a second LM with an active timer. But that is rarely needed.

Sign of Power: Command and See All Ends can be refreshed by a second LM with an active timer, assuming it's the same tier. Not enough to make a second yellow LM of any value.

    Rooted does not refresh.

A second layer of Sticky Tar or Warding knowledge does nothing.

A second layer of Knowledge of the Lore-Master does nothing

Same pet debuffs reset timers, but you would use different pets.

Same pet buffs reset timers, blue tree only, but not enough of a buff to be a useful DD class replacement.

So as you can see a second LM, whatever the tree, brings little to a fellow at the cost of a damage class character. That is the reason why blue and red tree LMs are never sought by a group leader. Except for a few niche circumstances there is only 1 yellow LM per group. Or they are being carried by that group, no matter how hard they try.
