Exclamation Are you ready to participate on the Yule Festival?

Your outfit must be ready, if not you may get some at the event when it start. Your house must be wintry decorated (rummors are that certain house inspired LOTRO player website, may do a Yule themed house contest). There are so many festival quests to do, people are getting ready to fight a giant at Misty Mountains heights for shinnies... & lets not forget to play a bit with the kids of Snowbluff, defending their castles! All this is happening to have fun collecting all those wintry themed emotes, outfits, pets, steeds, & house decorations.

For the people that wish to participate on the Yule festival that will start today, here are 2 new plugins dedicated to the event that may help you on those deeds:

Also here is a theme fitted custom UI skin, that you may enjoy to use: https://www.lotrointerface.com/downl...tmasTheme.html

Winter and Summer have always been my two favorite festivals. First, for quest fun. Second, they were good ways that casual/solo players to get items for LIs.

I'll give this one a try and see what you've done for the rewards in Frostbluff. If we can get items for the new LI's, well and good. Considering we still get ixp runes for rewards in the game, I have to wonder.

Hopefully it will remain a fun festival.

Sadly, as expected, there's nothing for the new LIs. Crystals should have been replaced by those items you need to get the better traceries, but there's nothing.

For those who like cosmetics, there are some new items; but once again SSG says they don't care about the casual player's equipment.

The crystals can be flamed for ancient scripts.

Yeah, as you said, it is as expected :/ That there is no LI stuff for soloers. I get that we don't "need" legendary traceries, for example, but at least earlier I have been running Yule festival with all my characters because that's where I was able to get Star-lit crystals. Now there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that I would use my festival tokens for, unfortunately. Essence reclamation scrolls? Really? For what, anyway? Once I thought maybe I could re-use those old essences somehow, maybe to get higher tier essences (much like relic forging), but nah. I still have some low-level essence gear stored in my vault in hopes that someday I could pull those essences away and they are valuable again, but it's not likely that's going to happen.

Anyway, I got this wrapper quest for 6-man yule instance and checked the rewards: Tracery reclamation scroll, 2 universal optional crafting ingredients, rare crafting component selection box, tracery token, LEGENDARY, 400 figments of splendour, and 1000 virtue experience. ALL those for 10 Storvagun coins.

All right, that's pretty nice! Next I checked if that instance is possible to do solo as well, but no, it's not scalable, only 6-man. But hey, there is solo instance as well: The Battle At Frostbluff! I have did that only once before last year, and that should tell me that it wasn't worth doing, but tried it anyway again. What did I get? Snowballs! And yule festival tokens! And some other "festivity tokens" but again, only cosmetics to barter for. I even did one encounter and that opened a deed for all encounters which would at completion reward me with - you guessed it - festival tokens!

Ah well. For the first time in many many years, I don't "have" to run this festival daily in hopes of getting something useful because there isn't any. Maybe they will add something useful next year that are NOT gated behind group content only? Maybe?

I actually am glad that there isn't anything besides fluff I would want this year. It just makes it more enjoyable for me. Only problem is the wrapper. I wish they divided this for dailies.
