We need to maximize our critical rating and physical mastery then finesse in order to actually do consistent damage.
With capped physical mastery, critical rating and a fair amount of finesse, you won't have much room for mitigations.
Everyone plays their DPS classes differently but most would go glass cannon if they are able to because it gets the job done faster.
