just trying to figure out the last dps mini update: the adjustment has no discernable impact on PvE, has no one asking for dps minies in group content, and makes no difference in PvMP....so it's just a bubble nerf in essence?

dont worry the dev's are working on a fix that fixes the fix that fixed the fix that was fixing the fix....
I have seen minstrels who only see the minstrel changes as that - the removal of what was a very overpowered damage prevention ability. In all seriousness, the minstrel changes are quite phenomenal. You have no idea how much a 3-second AoE stun has impacted my gameplay. I no longer have to target an enemy to interrupt it with Piercing Cry and the process of using this new feature in addition to what I would normally do when surrounded with enemies makes it a natural change. The animation feels much smoother than usual too.
Also, the traits some people actually avoided in red have improved. We receive more light damage, morale, and finesse than ever before. The ticks on our dual-sword ability are actually potentially dangerous on the enemies. We also have a 100% chance of stacking damage with an extra bit of attack speed instead of induction protection.
I'm sorry if you felt like this was supposed to make us do as much damage as a hunter, but these changes make my leveling experience much more enjoyable.
dont over read what i posted. i dont expect to do as much damage as a hunter(notice i never said that). i was asking what the supposed dps increase for minnies was trying to accomplish. it seems it accomplished nothing at all. so why do it? just nerf the minnie bubble and move on. in PvE there is no discernable difference before and after the patch,( i dont remember hearing minnies complaining about landscape mobs and not being able to dps effectively.) it's doesn't make minnies a viable option as dps in group content or PvMP so my question was, why do it?

"The ticks on our dual-sword ability are actually potentially dangerous on the enemies"
Mind blown here...I try to keep up with things and i'll probably show my ignorance here because my mini is basically landscape and missions, etc. but...we can dual wield on minis?
I have a hobbit mini so I prefer clubs on her; i've always equipped a shield and a one-handed club in red. What did I miss?
All the fluff, all the time.
lol. No. The skill that I was referring to is "Timeless Echoes of Battle," but everyone I know just refers to it as that "floating sword ability." One or two swords are summoned depending on your stance. Normally, I would avoid using the skill because it never did enough damage fast enough to justify using it. I can honestly say now that I feel a difference after the patch.
Update 31 was the initial patch that stated that there was a problem with the minstrel class: "The Minstrel's Hammerhand Self bubble base value has been increased to 80% of maximum morale. Minstrel survivability against burst damage is generally weaker than other classes, so this change will give Minstrels a better window of survivability when they get rushed by multiple opponents in solo play, or have to weather a major attack in group play."
Update 33 had this to say regarding the change: "'Enduring Morale' now scales properly with level. At its third tier 'Enduring Morale' grants 'Call of the Second Age', a 2s stun effect that increases to 3s by tier 5. To help counter some of the loss of survivability, we've fixed scaling on this morale trait, and added a new CC source for the Minstrel for when they over pull."
Though I think many saw the one statement on Bullroarer and thought that maybe it would have been placed in a more competitive role compared to other damage-role classes: "Song of the Hammerhand base bubble value reduced [80%->35%]. This bubble was just too strong. We'd rather get the Red Mini on a stronger DPS standpoint so they're not dependent on it." Our class did get a lot of improvements and a slight shift to damage, but only enough ease off some complaints I've heard about leveling the minstrel.
Thanks you! I see now.![]()
